Very well done. I agree that most videos showing this process skip over some important info. This guy hits all the important and gives great visuals and explanations of why it's done the way it is. Thanks AT for putting this out

Love the video! I picked up something again from your tips, even though I’ve been building for a long while there can always be something that can be helpful, tiny things you don’t think about that can make a huge difference

Tip: Don't dispose the epoxy in the foil immediately. Use it to feel if the epoxy is curing properly, rather than touching the rod.

nice video - thanks for the tips! at what RPM are you running your drying motors? does it make a big difference if they are e.g. running at 9rpm or 18rpm?

Very good square one and onwards video but, for a hobbyist or an occasional builder, I think you need to go back to square zero - as in doing this work without an automatic rod turner and where you might be wrapping bleed patterns. Yes, bleed patterns to liken fabric tartans; first coat of finish is important beyond belief and a different resin product, than for finishing at large, might be necessary. But working without an automatic rod turner. How often and for how long must you turn the rod for? I'm getting back into building after a 25 year gap and, due to my hands tending to cramp nowadays, I've bought a hand wrapper instead of the cardboard boxes I used years ago. But with about 8-10 rods ahead of me, I'm don't see an automatic rod turner as part of the deal. So how do you get the job done without one?

How long should you wait until you do your second coat of epoxy? And will the epoxy still bond to itself if you wait more than 24 hours between coats?

Being AT Pro Staff, any chance of asking them to sort the Chuck on their power wrappers. I see you have the same issue as everyone else with an off centre Chuck. All the forums are full of the same complaint and yet it is still an issue. Brilliant video by the way, pretty much as I do, except the tip about the foil and plate. I have always used the small foil trays you can buy as I mainly build fly rods and don’t need big volumes of epoxy. However, just doing a set of carp rods so that tip will come in handy. Thanks.

Hi Rob That chuck has since been replaced with something new… The old AT powerwrapper is discontinued but the future is bright! 😜
