Your comment about D and A thread, I'll just put in my ideas. On a build like yours, D would be my choice of thread. On really lightweight blanks like the SP53/1-4 or lighter fly blanks, I would use an A thread. This has more to do with ease of laying a thinner thread on a thinner blank. You can also use less tension, this really helps on a 2wt fly rod tip section. It doesn't require as much epoxy to soak the A thread, but in the end you might only save, estimate 1-2 grams. I know there are plenty of conversations on the forums about thread use, but I believe it is up to the builder and it should not be a huge issue.

i paused this video.. to comment... many wish for an perfect rod to reel combo... some rod builders go as far as building the rod around a reel.. by removing the spool and an string line from the shaft for guide placement... is this an build that you do?

Did you say CCT reel seat over the HCC??? I'm confused. The lighter was HCC with the hood from the CCT, so what did you end up with?

cork is WAY lighter than eva. i'm not talking comparing different designs and adding butts and whatnot. just comparing the material specific densities. at Rodhouse we sell 12,7mm bored ring, the eva come at 2.3g which is light, but a flor grade cork ring is 1.6g, which is almost a third lighter.
