When I first watched the movie, I kept imagining sonic music playing over certain scenes because the music also felt so quiet

I think that's a problem with all Hollywood blockbusters (and cinematic "AAA" games trying to emulate movies), they put an emphasis on orchestral that doesn't allow catchy tunes to exist. MCU is a big offender, aside the Avengers theme and a handful more, they never let leitmotifs for their characters to shine -if they have one-, and other big franchise struggle with this too. I don't think there is a single recognizable tune from big franchises like Avatar, Dune, or Fast & Furious. That's why needle-drop songs are what become popular, not their soundtracks (e.g. Moon Knight's A Man Without Love) Over at games, you will have to go for independent titles to have a musical identity (There is a reason Undertale's Megalovania is popular) or Japanese games (Nintendo's, by Atlus)... I wonder what will happen with Sonic now that Frontiers was unveiled to be BotW-esque 🤔

The OST is so bland and forgettable man, it's just a generic orchestra or some licensed pop culture songs. There's nothing unique about it, nothing to stand out, just really bland. And that's one of my biggest fears with Frontiers, I just don't find myself listening to a generic piano melody and thinking it's a banger. The only thing it has over the Sonic movie OST is that they do have a good reason to put it there and the generic piano melody isn't THAT generic or THAT bland.

I overall agree, but i dont agree with the water scene, its not ment to be hype, its ment to be tense, and thats what it does I agree that they should be rock in there for action scenes, but stuff like super sonic and the water running wouldnt work imo
@Br1ckCulture Жыл бұрын
I also dont like the idea of ripping music of the games, maybe do a mario where u do remixes OR u do original music, that sounds sonicy The movies shouldnt be known for copying music rlly well, it should be known for what the game is known for, rlly banger music

Dude, did you copy my video? Like, I'm aware I'm not the only person who dislikes the movies' soundtracks compared to the games but you've clearly visited my channel as you've commented on a different video and, you being a Sonic fan, there's no way you would've skipped out on my video about Sonic music. And it could be a coincidence, but you make a lot of the same points I do and in the same structure. It's quite disheartening to me that you would do that if that is the case. Like, you could've asked or credited me IF I was the one that gave you the push to make this video even if you already had the same opinion. And I would've been perfectly fine with that. I dunno, I'm terrified of confrontation so I hope I don't come off as a narcissist. Anyway, I will say I like how you do show clips in this video as I wasn't able to do that in mine given I made it right as it hit theatres.

Hey, thank you for reaching out! I completely understand that's the first thing your mind went to since your video came out a while before mine and is very similar. I would've probably scrapped the idea entirely if I knew someone else already tackled the topic (since I've scrapped videos before when I found out other creators were making very similar content) But the truth is that I had already made and published my video before I found out you made one of your own. A friend of mine sent me your video after it got recommended to him and he realized you and I covered the same topic. It's the reason I found your channel in the first place and commented on some of your other stuff. I'm sorry you feel this way and I really would've second guessed my decision to work out my opinions into a video if I knew you made yours sooner. I hope this clears some stuff up, cheers!

@@LukeStation Phew. All good then. Sorry for losing it. Next time you have a parallel thought as someone else and realise after the fact, you should still leave a comment or something, ya know? Anyway, still a crazy coincidence that before you found me, I found you and then you found me despite being such small creators :)
