I haven't finished the video yet but the first chapter you were playing is from Book 2. I suggest starting from Book 1. Still, though, I'm happy that you're finally playing the game. Have a fun and scary experience playing it!

oh god the mimic- the animations are great and the scares are super fun, but my biggest memory of it was me and my friends struggling with one of the levels (the one right before the final boss of book one i think). and after beating it we were so annoyed that we beat the final boss within minutes, just because we were completely desensitized to the jumpscare, fun times

you guys should start on chapter 1, book 1, so that the story adds up. on the top when you make a lobby in the book, there are arrows to change what book youre playing. also, please utilize using the sprint button more.. it was so painful watching you guys beat chapter 1 book 2 without sprinting till the end 😭

@@JustF4llen4u They dont have to START with it but they do have to still eventually play it unless they dont play mimic again in general. But if we put the chapter not releasing aside, even if they dont play book 1 and wait till chapter 2 for book 2 comes out we don't really know how THAT can of worms is gonna be opened. All of THAT aside, its gonna take a while before they finish chapter one, they are really incompetent when it comes to that, not many people problably are.

They didn’t know u can sprint with shift (pc) and L2 (XBOX) and that’s how you mostly escape from a chase, this is vital info as later enemies will require you to not only escape, but escape without them seeing you hide somewhere

Guys I give u some tip that can save your life from the mimic Tip 1:never go near the monster Tip 2: u can change the lantern by beating the mimic Tip 3: here the controls ASWD shift to run l, F to open lights And there u have it

I started playing this game since around when 2nd chapter of book 1 came out. Book 1 (control) is the start of the story and it's easier, shorter and also gives different vibe from book 2. However book 1 has a lot of cheap jump scares (not too many). Book 2 chapter 1 itself takes really long to complete and is way harder compares to any chapter of book 1. The rat part that you guys are in is just the first big part of the chapter and there are like 3-4 more big parts. Overall mimic is very confusing both the puzzles and the story (if you try to figure them out by yourself). I hardly recommend you to try book 1 first bc of the reasons I've mention and you'll also get more used to the controls before coming to book 2. Btw the thing that the game mentioned about being able to keep you safe from Mio was the rope hanging above the door (basically any room that has rope hanging above its door is Mio proof).

The safe rooms aren’t the dolls as that isn’t what they are called, when it says that the ‘mysterious word’ rooms are safe, it means the rooms with a little rope on the top of the door, just like the well room and the start room which is why it just leaves.

The Shinunikans or smth that protects are not the dolls. It's the rope on the door. Rooms with the rope will save you and she can't pass through it.

Theres Lanterns and you can also Sprint on PC which is Shift, and Xbox is L2 to sprint. I’m pretty sure theres like these things hanged up on doors that is a safety room. 👍🏻 hope this help.
