"12 therapy sessions didn't fix my issue with food." Duh! I was in therapy for 7 YEARS before I finally felt like I was past my issues with food and binge eating. I'm not saying it takes that long for everyone, but girl. It absolutely takes longer than 12 sessions. She's gotta put in the work.

I think that the whole WLS arc was not true. I think that she was just doing it for views. I do not think that she saw the therapist either. If she did see the therapist she most definitely lied to them....manipulated them so that she could get WLS sooner. If the arc is true I think that she got denied the surgery and she did not chose not to get it. She lies so much that not a soul knows the truth.

OKKK… I’ve never told this to anyone other than my therapist. I was always a heavy kid, I was 260lbs at my heaviest in my 30s. For decades I would use every 11:11, shooting star, birthday wishes on being skinny. It’s ridiculous but I really just wished I would wake up thin. Then 2019 hits, along with blood pressure of 220/120 (stroke level), and I finally woke up and took control of my life and body. I’ve lost and maintained a 120lb loss since with diet and exercise (and huge shoutout to my dietician and mental health experts!). I’ve ALWAYS said Amber wants a magic wand, a far fetched wish fulfilled. She does not have what it takes to put in the work. It’s sad, but with all her manipulative tendencies, it’s hard to feel sorry for her.

I am a retired RN. She has Stage 4 Lymphedema (Elephantiasis). It is getting bigger and heavier each day. Sodium is the equivalent of Miracle Grow. It constantly weeps a sticky yellow fluid that soaks through all linens/towels. As it grows, her heart has to work harder until it can’t. She is extremely close to death. I can tell by her color that she’s already experiencing organ failure. I once told her that her only option is in-patient treatment. She called me a “hater” and blocked me. She should get all her affairs in order. It’s too late for her. I am surprised that KZbin allows her content.

I think the best thing for Amber would be to disconnect from social media and KZbin to focus on her health, and taking the time to work with a qualified dietitian (and therapist) and a high quality fitness professional to finally learn how to eat in a healthy, enjoyable, and sustainable way that supports her weight loss goals, and to start a fitness training program that’s safe & appropriate for her. I want to see her finally succeed, which means no more trying all these trendy diet programs that never work, & removing herself from social media for a long time to stop letting herself get derailed by everything that comes with being so public.

Her weight gives her the "perfect" excuse to remain in her cyclical life. She has proven time and time again, she rather uses her weight for the reason she is held back. She embraces her victimization I recognize this because I lived for 10 years with a man who is the male version of Amberlynn. They only "amend" their ways when they think they are in threat of loss or need to prove to gain something from someone, whether a new possible love or something for free I spent 10 years having to be a dictator to his food choices, hygiene personal care, and many other things. They don't want to do it on their own. They only do it if you have a strong "bully" personality to micromanage every aspect of their life, which is exhausting and one becomes over it. Why "enablers" can happen because frankly most people in the lives of people like ALR, just give up trying to give all the support when the person takes *zero* accountability and expect everyone else to manage it for them She has had supposed WLS team, and dietitian group via the WLS team probably has been given recommendations to see physiotherapy (never once have we heard her going to see someone or them come to her home), and claims she knows what she should be doing foodwise, but the moment it actually equates work, permanent life changes, etc she will dismiss any help and claim she is too unique to be helped at all Her goal is always to look for any flailing excuse from the sinking ship to "justify" why she does not need to lose weight. The "blame" will be placed on everyone else but her own decisions and actions

Imagine having to lose 400 lbs. I am in the process of losing 75 lbs and even THAT is hard enough. She would have to be consistent for 5+ years to lose 400 lbs. Her track record shows she can’t do it for more than a few weeks. There is no possible way she will lose the weight unless she has surgery and even then, she will likely gain at least some back. Something like 60-80% of WLS patients regain (including me, I had vsg in 2016).

The thing you need to understand about Amber is that she's far more interested in talking about bettering herself, and monetizing it, than actually doing it. This is not a scenario of someone who may have the desire to change but hasn't had the tools, be they therapy, nutritional advice etc. This is someone who has everything at her disposal and can't be bothered to do what she claims to want. Mark my words, no amount of therapy will solve her issues. It's become a crutch at this point, something convenient to point to to continue to excuse her lack of discipline while she claims to be working on herself. Her issues with food may have psychological roots, sure, but the solution to her problem has been the same since day 1: be disciplined. Instead of actually doing what she needs to do, she'll talk about doing weight watchers and quit after a week, or talk about WLS but will never commit to the process in any meaningful way, she'll talk about how much she needs therapy for BED or trauma, but won't actually use anything she's learned to modify her behavior. She will fixate on understanding the causes or roots of her behaviors, but only insofar as it enables her to avoid accountability. It's all a superficial attempt to convince others she's sincere. A sincere person would have made great strides long ago.

Tbh I’m confused as to why you’re wasting your breath on alr. She made Becky feel like garbage stating “I’ve never had support and love from anyone until I met faleene”. Becky was probably the most supportive person alr had in her life but she just treated Becky like a stranger in her own home after allowing someone who watched her on social media after four days of knowing her. Faleene even agreed to help pay for the surgery but in the end, Amber chickened out and just couldn’t stop with the take out and Uber eats. The only way alr is going to live to see 40 is going into a lockdown situation type deal where she can’t have three meals a day delivered. You’re just wasting your time!!!!.

Look at how swollen she is. How puffy the underneath of her finger tips are. She is a day, a week, a year, maybe 5 years away from a catastrophic coronary event in a best case scenario if she doesn't seriously start not just addressing, but fixing this soon. This is an alcoholic who had 75% of their liver harden and the doctor says _"We can cut the cirrhosis out, but it will be years before you have full liver function again, and it has to be soon. You cannot drink anymore regardless. If you do, without the surgery, I can't see any way you make it another 10 years."_ and the person says _"Yeah, there's really no point in the surgery because I'm not sure I'm ready to quit. You said I wouldn't make it 10 years? So that means I can keep drinking like this for another 9 then we can revisit the surgery?"_ at which point the doctor just shakes their head, wondering if a word they have just said is even registering. I doubt her doctors, or even her psych doctors are giving her the brutally honest truth at this point, which is the exact thing she needs to hear. Every doctor, councilor, friend and family member needs to validate the reality of the situation instead of her feelings. I *DO* think she wants to lose weight, she just wants to be able to eat whatever she wants whenever she wants more. It's crazy, but using drugs and alcohol to deal with her break up would probably be healthier for her than using food. 20 Wine coolers or 30,000 calories over the course of the day? For her? The Wine Coolers are probably safer. How bloody nuts is that? And at her size maintenance is probably in the 5K calorie area if she plays video games and watches Netflix/YT/Tik Tok all day. A 30 minute walk would burn about 600 calories, maybe more. And she can't cut to 4500 calories a day? Or 5K but do house work for an hour to create a deficit? And yes, I've been overweight before. Just under 300lbs at 5'11" with a load of issues, from psych issues from the hormonal mess it caused to a myriad of back problems I had to argue with a neurologist for days about to avoid getting surgery which resulted in her giving me an ultimatum of her cutting off my 30MG of Percocet daily unless I signed off on the surgery in lieu of losing weight because she did not believe I could with the injuries to my back. That was Jan 10th of this year and I'm 212.6lbs as of yesterday. I was 295+. I know there is a huge difference, but my back was technically broken, so it sort of made things much more difficult to move. 2 healed fractures, 3 unhealed fissures, 4 bulging discs, narrowing all over the place, pieces of bone/cartilage floating around my spinal column from the healed fractures, osteoarthritis of the spine, and of course, sciatica. The best way I can describe it was like a severe toothache, in my spine, with each disc being a tooth. It was horrible. I had to sleep in the bloody fetal position and would still wake up with bruises on my hips and the sides of my knees from the weight of my body. Giant mess. That said, i can only imagine how much physical pain she is in, and the longer she waits, the worse it gets. And by the looks of things, she can't keep putting this off like it isn't serious. She is going to die.

All we ever see of Amber is what she WANTS us to see. I have often wondered what she’s REALLY like behind closed doors when someone in her life (like Wifey or Becky) says “you know Amber, you shouldn’t get fast food today” (or whatever.) She strikes me as an incredibly manipulative person, and one prone to using emotional tactics to control the situation in her favor. I say this, because I feel what Amber really needs is an ADULT in the room basically denying her her child-like impulses and wants. She needs to be in an environment where she begins to understand that she’s not as smart as she thinks she is. She needs education, routine exercise, intensive psychotherapy and she needs to made to WORK for her food and board.

Talking about her latest “diet” and weight loss plan constantly actually does the opposite of what it’s meant to. The dopamine she gets from sharing her her weight loss plans makes her feel like she already done it when she hasn’t. So she has nothing left, no mental energy to actually lose the weight because she won’t stop talking about it. It’s a genuine chemical thing that can happen. That’s they all the self-help experts say “don’t ever tell anyone your plans, show them.”

i’ve been trying to tell other followers that they need to start emotionally preparing for her imminent passing. especially if they weren’t following during the C word scare. the guilt they’re going to feel when she eventually slips away in her sleep will eat at them for years. her organs are slowly shutting down, she’s running herself into the ground, and it’s just going to take one little illness to take her down. one more cellulitis, one more collapsed lung, one more twisted ankle, is all it’s going to take. can the EMTS get her onto a stretcher if she’s incapacitated? can they get her in the ambulance? will she make it to the hospital? can the medical team bring her back during a code? can they even push down enough to pump her heart hard enough to stop the brain damage?

It's sad to see this. I know myself how difficult it is to lose weight and keep it off. I restarted my journey in January 2023 for at least the third time properly. It is not easy especially when you have a food addiction, you're an emotional or binge eater which I am. I have lost some weight already, however I still have a long way to go but I won't give up this time. My last resort will be weight loss surgery. I hope that Amber-Lynn is able to turn things around ASAP because it's so damaging and definitely not fun to be bigger. Great video. Keep up the great work ❤👊💪

The thing with mental illness, substance use, addiction, etc. is that you need to put in the work to get better and nobody else can do that for you. People need to make a conscious decision to do better for themselves. If you are not willing to come to terms with the things you are struggling with and unwilling to be vulnerable and open, you will continue the cycle. I am a social worker and see people in crisis, and the people who have no desire to put in the work to get better rarely do get better. Excuses, lack of accountability, surrounding yourself with negative influence, etc. are all roadblocks that only YOU can resolve. Nobody can do that for you, unfortunately. Nobody can heal you on your behalf. Don’t expect anybody to fight harder than you fight for yourself.

She is exhausting. She is an active addict and you can not help an Addict that doesnt want help. She has a reason for everything good, bad or indifferent. The simple fact of life is you make the changes you want to make. you change your priorities if you have to. Amber likes the props and the distractions. once its no longer new or shiny she is out. Any Change is not new or shiny when its really working. Its showing up everyday no matter what to put in the effort. I am not a gym rat. There are days i want to do anything else except exercise. Those are the days i need it the most. I bribe myself even like just do it to the 5 minute mark and if you are still not feeling it than by all means stop. by that time i am in the headspace of I can get through this and by the end i am in a better place mentally. you do what you set as a priority. I've started listening to Gabrielle Lyon who says we are as a western culture society are muscle deprived. We are so focused on trying to find motivation for fat loss that we completely forget about trying to eat and build for muscle. Nobody asks the question, do our bodies have a healthy amount of muscle? I'm wondering if women were less focused on trying to focus on fat loss motivation and instead shifted to muscle gain, and optimizing food/exercise for muscle, then maybe we can have healthier bodies. If you try to eat 30grams of protein for every meal you naturally aren't as hungry.

I'm a public health professor and ALR has been a case study for my students. I am never here to make fun of her; however, I would find her very difficult to deal with in real life. So, I end up thinking about the many professionals who have given her evidence-based recommendations. Some low-income people would thrive and turn their lives around with only a fraction of the professional healthcare support she has received. So it's hard to see her throwing away her money, her time, other people's time, and her youth on uncontrolled impulses. The "sitting with discomfort" advice would have been really helpful if she had actually done it instead of just saying the words because it made her appear enlightened. The montage starting at 02:16 says it all. She can't let a craving pass her by, so she is not practicing the fundamentals of impulse control that could help her in many facets of her life.

I'm a woman who's also a recovering binge eater. Just about every addiction stems from some emotional pain you're trying to escape or numb yourself from: depression, anxiety, loss, relationship issues, financial problems, etc. The key is to deal with those feelings however necessary. I feel like the only weight loss tip really is: it WILL take time. It DEFINITELY WILL take time. A long time. If you're not satisfied with the process there's no point because the process is actually your new life. Yes you'll have to be careful about what you eat all your life. If you're not satisfied with progress and just want the end goal it won't work. Besides time, any way of eating that allows you to reduce your intake is fine.

I’m currently trying to find both the right therapist to help with ways to cope with stressful and emotional situations that will make it easier to avoid turning to food for comfort and my next doctor appointment is to discuss medication for the adhd in general to give me the best chance to lose a bunch of weight I gained since covid started. If only amber would get serious about get proper diagnosis for whatever issues she has, no more self diagnosis or switching doctors and therapists before they have a chance to properly diagnose, and then she needs to take the diagnosis she gets seriously to make the required changes and not just use a diagnosis as an excuse to keep acting the same way

There should be societal pressure to lose weight if you are obese. Not hate, just social pressure. The same pressure society puts on smokers, alcoholics, drug addicts, people that need mental healthcare but refuse it, racists, mean people etc. It is a role of society to set the standards for our communities. The problem is that some people are just mean and hateful and society needs to make it clear the type of pressure that can be applied. Obviously applying pressure to someone to lose weight for health reasons would not look the same as the pressure applied to discourage racism, animal abuse, or child neglect, etc. Societal pressure is a necessary part of safe and stable communities.

I have been watching Amber slip away for years while fighting my own addictions. We are at very different stages of our recovery and I am still learning and growing. Something I've learned a lot about, and how I really relate to her now, is the concept of comfort. Pain is an uncomfortable, sometimes devastating part of the human experience. Like all other injuries, it needs to be acknowledged and metabolised so that the injury beneath it has a chance to heal. She and I have similar childhoods - she turned to food, I turned to H. Both of us, on the inside, were little girls in pain and seeking something that would soothe that pain away. It is normal to want comfort when we are in pain, but comfort is not a shield and it does not help us to digest, metabolise and heal that pain. We return to our "safe" places over and over because they are predictable and free of chaos - we know exactly what we will get from them. Sometimes when we are really unwell and in an immense amount of pain that we haven't confronted, all of our waking hours start to revolve around comfort. I've been there, and that's where she is. She is a frightened child who wants someone to just pour endless love into her, gives her no boundaries, and handfeeds her sixty burgers a day, because she knows exactly how that will make her feel. And the problem with that is it never lasts. Life will change because life changes, it is not a static experience and it will find you eventually. She just doesn't want to accept that in ignoring the core of her pain and eating until its numb, she has destroyed herself in ways that her pain never could.

It's a nice sentiment, but the sad reality is you want this for her more than she does. She's an addict with extreme emotional issues stemming from childhood. Not that it's a valid excuse at 32 years of age. However it explains the immaturity and lack of tools to navigate life responsibly.

@@RhiannonNicole It can actually. If it starts going in the directing of enabling. Not setting boundaries for behavior and letting them continue to be self destructive. Overlooking it and forgiving that... ultimately doesn't help an addict. Tough love is what is needed for ALR. Unfortunately for her over the years she has burned every bridge. There's no one left to give it.

Amber, the only thing she succeeds at is failing. Don’t get your hopes up, she will never change. 10 years of a weight loss journey and she’s only managed to gain weight

I wonder if focusing on reducing sugars would help Amberlynn. I know it sounds silly but I was having similar problems with impulse and willpower on diets. I recently learned it’s likely I have a sugar addiction and I’ve been taking steps to fix it. Weight loss isn’t my focus yet but I’m already feeling different and way less cravings for junk. It’s really helping me stay on track and work towards a healthier lifestyle. I wonder if it might help her.

How are you doing it? I need to cut my sugar intake, too

@@TooHooWrong Not OP but theres definitely not one way. Ive heard a tip to not restrict food but have full, legit meals and eat as much veggies as you can first, then as much protein as you can and then eat the carbs. this way you get fibre first, which regulates blood sugar, then you feel yourself up with protein that is very satiating, and then helps you eat less carbs and have less craving. It has really help me lose some pounds and i dont eat whole bar of chocolate at once anymore and dont have sugar crashes. I still have a problem with eating a pack of crisps a day, but that's at least one problem left to deal with instead of two 😂

@@TooHooWrong I’m following a 7-step plan in a book called “Potatoes Not Prozac”. The steps are almost ridiculously simple but it’s meant to ween you off the addiction slowly so you don’t experience withdrawal. I’m still on step 1 because I’m really trying to nail it before moving to step 2. I’ve actually managed to lose a little weight too although step 1 doesn’t eliminate or cut anything.

@@mald379 yeah I’m on step 1 of the plan which is “Get 33 grams of protein at breakfast and have breakfast within an hour of waking up” I’m plant based so it is HARD getting so much protein for breakfast but I have noticed I’m craving waaaaay less junk.

I thought her answer for not getting wls was valid and did show some level of awareness. However, what drives everyone literally insane about AmberLynn is that she has this great desire to lose weight but has absolutely zero follow through. Everyone is wasting their breath trying to convince her that her actions are effecting her situation. This is why her personal relationships fail. Its really very sad.
