It’s still better at 1. Odd mage has better synergy, and pure hero power mage doesn’t really need to be even or odd it’s just to help early game.

eater of secrets really went from mostly useless to completely useless when they printed Objection! which managed to dethrone explosive runes as the worst balanced secret

yeah, aint it the fuckin truth. the one thing that made Mage secrets feel kinda interactive to play against was that you could reliably use minions against them (usually a Battlecry or Deathrattle) and now they just fuckin removed that. And they powercrept both Potion of Polymorph and Kidnap that was released in the exact same bloody expansion. And the flavor neither fits Mage nor even the effect of the damn card itself. If Objection were changed to only counter specifically the Battlecry when a Battlecry minion is played, it'd be a lot less frustrating since you'd at the very least still have a body on board for your troubles, and you could more reliably/efficiently test for it as a result.

Hey roffle! Love the content and dunno if you’ll ever see this comment but wanted to ask your opinion on something. Been playing hearthstone for a little over 5 years now. Hard to believe how long I’ve been enjoying this game for lol. But wanted to post this here to see what you and other people think. Wanted to know if you or anyone else thinks blizzard should add some kind of legacy mode to the game? Basically I mean a game mode In hearthstone separate from wild that would have rotations about every 4 months and use last year sets. For example one year would be the year of the kraken with the sets mean streets, old gods, and the adventure karazhan! If blizzard really wanted to make it really interesting they could mix and match years. So one rotation could be year of the mammoth, and year one of hearthstone. Which could make for some spicy decks and a fun meta. Really wanna see some cthun decks again and some more value oriented things. Wild has mostly become combo deck after combo deck and I think a mode like this could really spice things up and allow for some veteran players to experience some old metas as well. If blizzard really wanted to go a step further, as a reward for achieving legend in this format they could reward the player with a portrait from a tavern pass that they don’t have or something like that. I know the last part is very much wishful thinking but I do think some kind of legacy mode would be good for the game. Let me know what you guys think! :)
