@6:40 something i've learned is that really new and inexperienced players (like the ones who don't look up the rules, but "know" chess because they played it as a kid or something, seem to believe that pawns can attack diagonally in ANY direction. Which would explain why it's a common thing to see at the 500 or lower levels.

I think you'll actually come to the conclusion that the horse-shaped piece, known as a "knight" is in fact much more strategically useful to have in your arsenal than the bishop piece. I think you have neglected to inform that the knight piece posesses the ability to relocate itself in an L shape pattern. Since this is the only piece that has such capabilities, it is much more viable and strategically effective, than the bishop, which can only move in a diagonal direction. Do remember that the queen can also move like this, therefore making the pieces redundant. Please correct this for your next chess related video. Kind regards.
