THIS is the Best Corky to Learn With! (Not a Fatboy*)

June 30th thru July 1st Quintana Jetties, clear water & waist deep. I was on the rocks bombing that lure! I was throwing the Corky Fatboy Texas Chicken & limited out in 10min. I had guys offering me $50 for that lure but it was the only one I had. I a NNW wind to my back & started throwing at a 45° to the wind & started catching larger Spec's! They were pulling the Rod from my hands! I started culling the 17" to 18" Spec's. It was fire! Know one was catching & the Trout was blowing up. That TX Chicken did it! I have them all now. Bucees has them in all colors but know one buys them because they are big.. That's the Bucees at 523/332 headed towards Surfside, (by OCD Plant) same price if not cheaper than Academy & Amazon. I'm hooked on the Corky's now! I didn't have 1 spit the hook either, when they hit? They swallow it!

Cool idea with the ink. I’ve got a bunch of those soft dines. I’ll have to play with them next time I can get out on the water. Almost cracked my phone right around that 7 minute mark. 😑.

I wish a,a wasn't so far away. I'm hoping we get better tackle shops local again . I've been throwing pink and pearl but hard to find custom Corky's local. Mike did a awesome job. Good with machine and a rod.

What is your retrieve with the Softdine XL in chilly water? Same as your instruction for the Fat Boy? I’ve only, so far, thrown the regular Softdine in warmer water and bone/chrome has paid off.

Pretty well the same as fatboy. I let how the bait is acting determine how aggressively I work my lure.

Personal preference. I like the Laguna Trident over all else, though. Medium light on the stiffer side.
