I have the next model up, the 9ft Impax (£40). I have acolytes and Superas so know a good rod and I’m stunned by the rod. It is a bit crisper/stiffer than the NTR by the looks of it. It feels like a mid range £80-£100 rod and I love using it.

Picked up an 11ft Korum Phase 1 for 23 quid. Looking forward to trying it out. I'm a casual angler at best and have been for 35 years, I imagine it'll do me nicely.

@@geraldhills41 Oddly enough I just got round to actually using the Phase 1 last weekend (I did say I'm casual!). I thought it was OK, for the money certainly I had no grumbles. It's not had anything bigger than half a pound on it yet though!

I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

Ive got a Daiwa matchman 7ft feeder rod that cost me £35 and i love it have rods that cost 3 times as much and i prefer it.This looks good may pick one up.

I have this but in the 10ft not tested yet as I also got the ntr4000 reel but it had to go back the back wind switch didn't work .

Casting weight is only 30 gram. So if you load a 15 gram feeder it will be at its limit ! I bought one, it will be going charity shop.

I brought this combo and returned it after a day or two before using it, the rod is okay but the tip isnt very sensitive. The reel drag sounds cheap, and the reeling sound is horrible but again what more can you expect for a combo under £60
