Home made ice cream is the best. Because the 2 ice cream brands I love have gotten so expensive, I'm thinking of getting a maker like that. Other's I've seen makes a couple of pints only. I remember turning ice cream on our neighbors porch, all of us kids would take turns, great memories!😊 Chef, I'm so happy you posted this again, i missed it in July.

My mother knrw all the things your doing but she taught my older sisters everything that was passed down. She didnt teach me any of the family recipes. My sisters know it all. My mom was from Texas. I dont know why i got skipped. I picked up very little. Im still a good cook. Thank you. I will try this.

I've looked at those ice cream makers for years, never got one because I never found a recipe that I felt confident enough in and I wasn't gonna buy something I was never gonna use. I may just buy one now that I have a recipe I KNOW I can trust.

Do you have a neighbor with laying chickens? Free-range chickens usually have safer eggs. People can always use pasteurized eggs from a carton, found in the refrigerator section. Homemade ice cream is the best

You are right. I've never seen an ice cream recipe like this before. I'm not going to criticize your recipe because, I'm sure, there are many ways to make ice cream. I will nitpick you about your ice cream maker. Ya know, they do make machines that don't require ice or salt. The tub has liquid sealed inside. You prep by sticking the tub into the freezer for three or four hours. It works extremely well. What is extremely nice is that using a base, you can make a variety of flavors. I've made chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee, peach, pomegranate, persimmons, roasted garlic, and cinnamon. (Personal faves are the cinnamon, persimmons, and pomegranate.)
