This off track talk of everything else but fitness caught me by surprise but it was actually really entertaining informative. I laughed allot and learned alot. I’m happy to see you guys grow more I share your podcasts with all my friends. I been watching you for 6 months now and I’m glad I stumbled upon to this channel.

I have realised that having a somewhat strict sleep routine is crucial. A lot of people working out pay attention to lifting hard and eating protein/calories but not enough on sleep.

My entire life I've fallen for the mainstream fitness worlds lies. To loose weight you need to eat less, and do a lot of cardio. If that doesn't work eat even less and do even more cardio. And I wonder why I was losing and then gaining back the same 20 lbs over and over. Then I found you guys. For the past year I've been listening to every podcast you put out. Everything I've learned I've learned from you guys. Between finding the diet that is sustainable for me (keto), and learning proper lifting science from mind pump, I've lost and kept off 60 lbs and went from 33% body fat to 18%. I'm 39 and in the best shape of my life. I'm building muscle but I know with mind pump's help I can finally reach my goals. Thank you for what you guys do, truly!

I'm a "movement guy", meaning I'm somewhat athletic without having any real muscle mass. Animal flow, MMA, weapons works etc. But I listen to you guys every day. Decided I was going to start using the power rack at the martial arts gym to learn some basic lifts. Got myself settled under the bench, lifted the bar off the rack, and IT WAS SO HARD!!! Weightlifting is quite a complex skill, and I never really gave credit to the amount of stability and fine body awareness one needs to lift heavy things evenly and effectively. I thought I was gonna tip over to one side and drop the 55lb bar on the floor!

@@LotsOfSoap You couldn't be anymore on point. I remember benchpressing for the first time with the bar itself and on the last rep I couldn't get it more than 3 inches off my chest before it started falling back toward me. The trainer had to run and grab it from me!

Love the show!!I lift for about 5 years.I started listening to the potcast a few weeks ago and it changed the way I train.I was all about lifting 6 times a week at 100% intensity,and a lot of volume.And recovery I dont mind...Now I reduced my volume to 4 times a week and 2 days of mobility.I feel and see the difrent.Every video and podcast teaches me something new!Great work!I would love to try a maps program on the future! This is my first full Summer living away from home and living in my own apartment. I started listening to your podcast about a month ago while trying to create a routine for myself while starting a job working with pre-k children and taking a night class to get my national EMT certification. I listen every day; you guys are such an inspiration to me, and I’ve begun regularly strength training and love it. I would love access to MAPS Anabolic to hopefully gain some more structure and continue this journey when school starts again this fall! A big barrier for me is I often struggle to know where to start with exercise routines and haven’t seen a lot of improvements in my strength before. Thanks for all that you do!!

It’s pretty cool to have been training for about 13 years, the last 9 with a strength coach, and still learn new things (and luckily confirming what I’ve already learned). Great content as always. 💪🏼

Absolutely love this channel! I stepped away from the gym for the last 3 years due to some illnesses and depression. And I started working out again 2 months ago after watching your videos about the importance of compound exercises. Now, I've been sticking to the 5x5 workout religiously and have packed on a lot of muscle and strength in such a short span, so thank you for that. I used to hate leg days, but. nowadays I look forward to them ...

HAHA I agree with the "I don't want to look like a bodybuilder" or "I don't want to get all bulky". If you say something like that, you have NO idea how hard it is when you are actually trying! I also relate to the volleyball question but because I focus on climbing during the winter and I HAVE to cut back on lifting. Something's got to give.

You guys have hit another level lately. Seems like the show gets better every week 💪🏋️
@sinisterpink99072 жыл бұрын
I can relate to the "I don't wanna look like a bodybuilder" guy. It's so hard at the beginning to see the results that you want and they seem to come very slow. I did the same thing, started looking for alternatives or other quicker solutions / answers and overall I felt very discouraged. But like you guys said, sometimes you just need someone to tell you (often several times) to help you climb out of that headspace. That's why a PT and stuff like this podcast are so invaluable. Because the majority of the battle at the start for a lot of ppl (like me) is an internal one, so it'd good to have someone there who's got your back and can give you the right push

It’s funny hearing people say they don’t want to look like a bodybuilder. Unless you are a rare genetic anomaly, the amount of dedication it takes to look like one is huge and the average person does nothing close to the effort of what it would take. Plus I think a lot of people are thinking of the modern bodybuilders who are on steroid cycles. People should look at the builders from before steroids became so widespread.

@@sharonallison8991 I just like to have it on while working out at home. I usually setup two therabulbs. They give off alot of heat, and I find my muscles recover faster when using it. It could be placebo, but I like it. If I go to the gym, as soon as I get home I sometimes go downstairs and do aome mobility work with the lights on.

Hey guys. I am really pushing to listen to your advice on calories and activity, but I have a very active job and get over 25000 steps a day in addition to my strength training 4 days a week plus a functional workout day in between. I eat over 190 grams of protein a day but do feel like my metabolism has slowed down a ton, especially considering my low testosterone. I also have a history of anorexia but am getting monitored by my doctor often. I am currently on testosterone and thyroid replacement due to low testosterone and a pituitary gland enlargement. I want to go to and stay between 9 and 12% body fat but want my metabolism to speed up. The issue is my active job, my body dismorphia, and obsessive tendencies. Please let me know what I can do.

I feel lost with my bodybuilding journey I really need someone to talk to really need help structuring my workout plan I have learning difficulties and its getting me angry the problem with me is not knowing how to plan workouts intelligently it's funny because most people I know dont know how train hard or use correct form for me that's the easy part i know how to train hard like a maniac with correct form i just have no clue structuring properly understanding the maths side of it percentages and charts and all that crap I've been trying to get back to the basic lifts I've been following bro split for a wile now but something keeps telling me I've jumped into that stage too quick without focusing on gettin stronger on the big lifts it's as if I'm training like the big boys the big competitive bodybuilders when I'm not even near my natural potential so here I am stuck in a platue asking myself questions like am I overtraining? I don't even know where I'm at? I've been checking out a program 5/3/1 boring but big it's called and no matter how many videos I watch on KZbin or the instructions online I still have no clue how to do it? 1 rep maxes and percentages and charts its all complicated I feel like the easiest thing to do is go gym train hard like a savage take all sets to failure is the easiest way but here I am feeling like I'm running into a brick wall and it's getting me very angry! I've always said to people I have more heart than brains lol I'm absolutely clueless! I know I need to get stronger on the lifts my strength is too low for the size I want to be at i mean u dont see the big bodybuilders lifting the smaller weights forever. I dont know where to start. I've also created a plan My goals is strength and size I created my own full body plan hopefully someone experienced on here can tell me if its optimal? Monday strength focus: squat 5x5, deadlift 5x5, bench press 5x5, overhead press 5x5, Pull ups 4x10, Farmers walk. Wednesday hypertrophy focus: Squat 4x10, bentover row 5x5, bench press 4x10, overhead press 4x10, chin ups 4x10, Dips 4x10, Friday Strength focus: squat 5x5, deadlift 5x5, bench press 5x5, overhead press 5x5, pull ups 4x10, Farmers walk. And then next week alternate it other way round on Monday hypertrophy focus, strength Wednesday, hypertrophy Friday? Also as you can see every thing is strictly compound exercises the important lifts stick to the basics I find it easier but still challenge myself for the gains. Maybe I could add couple of isolations as I progress? Anyway let me know what you think hopefully this works providing my sleep and diet is right. If this is too much can someone please fix it for me I want to be able to do all these exercises in a week so please can someone fix it for me but at same time where I can do all the exercises in a week. I'm suffering with covid I'm going back gym monday last thing I want to do is to go back gym feeling lost I want gains I dont train my ass for nothing. Someone please help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
