I just started doing that with wolf like a week ago. It ain't true but ppl usually drift out and the Bair is quick enough and they typically don't expect that. It only work once or twice a set tho. So you save it for putting them off stage

I got the same exact problem! I think it's the way the thumb sits while you're playing. It's more ergonomic for your left thumb doing to the left than to the right.
