Great vid guys! I've delt with a lot of cast iron. You can restore them to like new condition. Just take some sandpaper to them. Keep in mind, they are iron after all. Start with the coarsest grit you're gonna need, then go to finer and finer grits. Last, coat them with some vegetable oil and season them in the oven.
@wanderingspider89888 ай бұрын
Depends how rusted they are. I just soaked over 30 cast iron pots and pans in 30% vinegar. Then fire seasoned them. I got about 400 bucks worth of cast iron. However it was a LOT of work. You cant just sand some or you'll take the markings down.

My husband glass beaded my frying pans and it cleaned them up beautifully. He was concerned that they might rust but they didn’t and it removed all the old food grit burnt on them. Then we seasoned them. ❤
@janelord30618 ай бұрын
I'd love to know more about that. I've never heard of glass beading.
@pattihuesken95838 ай бұрын
@@janelord3061 this is a process similar to sand blasting. He has a glass beader at work that he used. He used silica sand, very fine that doesn’t make pits or ruts. (sometimes walnut shells, sometimes baking soda are used) all are types that can be used in glass beading. He used the silica because it does finer work. It really did a beautiful job and I don’t know how I could have cleaned it on my own, as it was ingrained with old food inside and out like a coating. We inherited some very old Wagner frying pans that weren’t always cleaned properly. Type in sandblasting and glass beading where you live. Most machine shops have glass beaders. Hope this helps.

I've got a tip for you, don't be too specific as to specify brands and other tells which might give away the value of things when you ask what a price is. For example, if you're asking about a Gucci purse I wouldn't ask what they wanted for "the Gucci purse", I'd just point in it's general direction and ask "what are you asking for the purse?" Unthinkingly, they might just say $5 and then even if they realized what they'd done many people wouldn't want to look foolish so they'd just let you have it for the $5 quoted.

Hey Julian and Kayla. Great content as always. But as a fellow reseller, you know I’m gonna do that thing where we point out your mistakes right? Now, that putter for $25? Not bad when you see the Sea Island headcovers selling for great money. (I recently had a similar score with a Ping putter and Harbour Town headcover.) Of course, the cast iron and the purses and the jackets were ALL Scores! Quick BOLO for old army field jackets that have buttons vs zippers which dates them to the 50s. Again, really enjoy the vids as they are “not too shabby”. 🙂
