The fire helmet can be refurbished and used. My son just bought two “leathers”, as the Fire community calls them. We sold one on ebay and he used that money to get the other refurbished. He now uses it with his turn out gear at every call.

That Fireman's helmet is a great find if it's leather. New ones are $900. Looked on their website.

The leather fireman’s helmet (FDNY style) goes for $800+ the copy made of a resin and nomex mix are $100+. I was a volunteer fireman in the suburbs of NYC and the volunteers always wanted to look like FDNY but couldn’t afford the big ticket helmets they have so the helmet companies make these. Good luck! Interesting! In UK equivalents of 'Goodwill' all electrical items must pass PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) before sale to be sure they are working and electrically safe. This has to be carried out by a qualified electrician, so will be always be marked PAT tested and in working order. But impressed that you can check working order for yourself in store! Loved that teapot. Yeah, can't pass up on one of those... I'm British!

The Cairns helmets that command the big money are because they are leather. That 1010 is a plastic lid around $100 or so. Guys buy the leathers to actively wear them/collect them.

I brought a STILL chain saw of Amazon it had 2 batteries I charged one battery up & when I went to charge the 2nd battery the plug started to crackling sound so I am sending it back to Amazon & I have emailed the company to tell them about the batteries and plug

Is retired firefighter the fire helmets are basically collectors unless they’re in date if you sell one that’s out of date then it can come back as a liability to you

The find like the chair, those are the scores I like to keep, use for my home. That being said; that chair might be one of the few things I’d sell and here’s why. It’s too delicate. I’d be afraid anytime someone would sit in it. Definitely not the right chair if you have a cat. No idea what the lifespan is of banana leaf or how to care for it. If you do sell it for say, over $1,000, do you think you’ll share some of the profit with the family who sold it? Just curious.
