The Road Warrior was my favorite of the original Mad Max trilogy. The battle for the tanker truck, with no fake CGI, still stands up as one the great action sequences.

Road Warrior is unreal, the no cgi chase as you mentioned, its such a great movie. Couldnt get into Fury Road, think it might be one ill catch in the right mood and enjoy though

Hey Matt, did you watch Minus One in the original Japanese? If so, you should know Netflix changed the English subtitles from how they were in the theatrical release to match the English dub. Even though much of the same meaning is still there, a lot of it isn't as good/accurate as in the original and they have a lot of unnecessary subtitles for background conversations that don't matter. You can still watch it with the proper, more accurate subtitles though. On Netflix, when you scroll down to the subtitle options, scroll all the way over to other. The audio will be on Japanese but the subtitles will be on English (CC). Change it to the option that just says English to get the correct subtitles.

@AnarchYxNinja Agreed. The default subtitles on Netflix, though, will use the dub script even when you're watching the original Japanese. The dub script itself is also inferior imo. You can get the original subtitles by changing them from English Closed Caption (CC) to just English. Hope you enjoyed it!

Mad Max 1 was amazing because there was no context. Nothing like it existed before and was a revelation. Though, yes, now its boring as the action formula has been amped.
