Fun fact, this movie is an adaptation of the first volume of a bizzare manga series. A later volume contains a character which Street Fighter ripped off the design to create M. Bison.

I'm assuming you mean the american M. Bison who is Balrog in Japan. they had to change it when it hit the states because of the similarities to Mike Tyson 😄 That's interesting tho I always wanted to read the mangas of Riki Oh

Ricky was actually in prison because he was trying to accomplish 3 goals : 1-Find informations about his long lost brother; 2-Disrupt the drug production happening there; 3-Defeat the warden who was torturing the inmates, some of which were unjustly imprisoned. It's kinda hard to compress a whole manga volume into a single movie 😶.

Yeah, I read the manga several years ago. If I remember, it's name is "Violence." It is bizzare. Ricky is the son of a Nazi man and a Jewish woman. Ricki is literally superhuman from birth with his power centered around a star of David mark on his right hand which he was born with. He had a little brother who was also superhuman with his power centered around a Swastika on his right hand.

Another great entry by the sbig crew. People have spent 100s of millions to make films half as entertaining as Riki. Non-stop from the start. And a big salute to whoever edited this one. Finding a creative way to let the viewer follow along while blocking what you had to was an impossible job and you got it done.

Interesting tid-bit of trivia: The endogenous man who Riki fights is actually played by a woman. I've heard that it might be because they wanted to portray the character as a very effeminate man to such a degree that they felt only a woman could actually pull it off. I don't know if that's really the reason for this casting choice, but it seems pretty effective regardless.

Riki is played by Louis fan whom we saw with Sifu Seagal in the movie Attrition. Lol just noticed ,Hook warden glass eye is actually Louis fan/Ricky father,and was playing as his father in Attrition too,god bless Sifu seagal. Also the guy with a saw/got his face sawed is Philip ko ,one of the 5 venoms from the Shaw brothers era.

@@JasonBrant It's called "Dint King Inside King" or Super Powerful Man. The main character's name is changed from Riki-Oh to "He Shen". A site called YesAsia says it's out of print(straight to video in 2004). Seems like it doesn't have English subtitles either. Haven't seen it but everything I read says it's nowhere near as good(or So Bad It's Good😂) as the first movie. Also, I don't know if anyone else already said it in the comments but the guy playing Riki-Oh was in Steven Seagal's "Attrition".

30:20 The one time you can say "he blew his ass off" and really mean it. Riki was after the warden, so while he could have left any time, he needed to wait for the warden to arrive, and a chance to get him. I loved all those "I'm showing you all I can" text screens to cover the gore. It's too bad, because the gore is so over the top that it's like a cartoon, and not at all realistic. My wife hates to see dogs get hurt, but when the one dog in the entire movie got kicked in half a few seconds after it first appeared, even she thought that was hilarious. It looked like it was full of Jell-O. I love Japan. Wait, Erin's in the credits?

It's an Action Comedy starring Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner as a couple of well-known spies who retire after they get married and have a kid. They show up in New Orleans, meet a bunch of people who know them from the old days, and wackiness ensues. It's got a 37% on Rotten Tomatoes. I always thought it was hilarious, because the two leads had such great chemistry.

I'm so glad (yet kind of surprised this is your first viewing) that you did this film, I have watched it many times and it just gets better with every viewing. Excellent job. It is definitely a gore filled movie but done in such a way that you can laugh at it and enjoy it, in a live action cartoon sense.

I'm so glad you guys covered this gem! It must have been insane since I think this is the most vocal Pam has ever been in an episode, even more than The Barbarians! I'd recommend Robowar, Bruno Mattei (the director of Shocking Dark)'s rip off of Predator, almost shot for shot at times, starring Reb Brown. Definitely worth it if you can find a copy!

I love this movie! I first saw clips of it in between bands at a metal concert back in the mid 2000s. Then ended up watching it on a first date with one of my exs. Found a bootleg online and rewatch it all the time! I'm glad you guys got to review it!!! Love watching your reviews!!!
