Hey, I'm Phil! I'm from the US, Wisconsin to be exact. Fishing Roots consists of 3 generations of passionate outdoorsmen at different stages of our fishing journey. My father (Ron), is a 35 year professional fishing guide. Myself (Phil), I'm a content creator, producer of Fishing Roots and former radio DJ that grew up chasing music and a fish bite. My son (Gavin), is a teen passionate about fishing. 3 generations of fisherman with deep Fishing Roots.

They have a couple plywood boards out so people can walk out to the thick ice at the last place around here to go ice fishing. A couple doorknobs fell through at another place the other day. I didn't even go out ice fishing this year because there was still open water on one of the lakes. I usually walk across Lake Monona on the way back from the Madison Fishing Expo but it looks like the whole lake except for one bay was open this year driving by.

It would take more than plywood to get me out on thick enough ice! 🤣 It’s crazy to think we don’t have locked up ice the weekend of the expo! Get out there and fish hard this spring and make up for lost time this winter! It’s shaping up to be a spring like no other!!! ~ Phil
