I think the people that get irrationally angry over this film are doing so because they either feel called out on some of their own bad behavior.... or they just never even watched the movie, and are only repeating what they heard from whatever conservative echo chamber they live in. This was a fun movie that you can't take too seriously. They hit on a lot of things and certainly had some deep lines and moments... but overall it's a comedy and its supposed to be entertaining. I think movie making is an art... and the best pieces of art are the ones that make you think or spark conversations. The fact that this movie has done so well and invoked such a response - to me, that just means its successfully done it's job.

Ryan Gosling has been singing a long time. He was first on the Mickey Mouse Club when he was about 12 and he sang and danced. He also sings and dances in "La La Land". For that he learned to play jazz piano in 3 months and in part of it plays with John Legend. He is a super talented guy along with being a sweetheart.

If you guys like Ryan Gosling in a comedic role, i suggest a movie called "The Nice Guys". He's amazing and its a great buddy cop/detective story as well as a comedy

Barbie's feet are always on the toes so all the heels will fit and even the tennis shoes are made to fit the tiptoes. Kids are always changing their Barbies depending on how they feel. Barbies feet did not flex so if her feet are flat she won't be able to wear the heels.

This movie has a lot of references, nods and inside jokes to other movies, this particular scene 51:16 is a refence to the Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse 'dream within a dream" dance sequence in the movie Singing in the Rain,

Plutocracy is political power based on wealth. So basically like a government filled with billionaires and only billionaires in any political office. Shining was referring to Stephen King's books and his concept of limited telepathy and precognitive powers where people with the shining can communicate with each other telepathically

Moments watching y'all when I went 🥰: "Cellulite? What's wrong with that?" "He's taking all the wrong notes!" Sir, you are too pure for this world, bless you. So fun to watch this with y'all.❤ Ryan Gosling summoned his inner 10yr old for pure Ken perfection.🤣 He's so darn earnest and innocent, even when he's being toxic as heck. I think all the Mattel employees are escaped Allans! Great Gerwig is a super advanced nerd too, go find the interview where she talks about all the films referenced in this! New Rock stars has no less than 3 detailed breakdowns that make me respect her even more. 🌸🩷 "Shining" is a psychic connection, like the movie The Shining. One of many Kubrick references in Barbie, like the entire opening sequence being a shot for shot parody of 2001's famous monolith scene with the monkeys. (OMG did I geek out during that part in the theater) Famous. Hmmm. Famous in the 80s that is; I'm old, and sometimes I forget my framework of reference is different from younger adults. Time is weird my friends. And it just gets weirder.

None of the Barbies believe they need the Ken's for anything, but like men used to think women were only there to take care of them and have kids. They had no need for Kens in Barbie Land.

Yep, Growing up Skipper was real..you moved her arm and she got taller and bigger boobs. Some of the things were crazy back in the days..but every doll represented was real..including Allen

It is kids playing with a Barbie House and they do not have water or food, all of it is imaginary. Ken had no house, no car, no money and no job. He is just an accessory for Barbie, like a trophy boyfriend or girlfriend.

Ken is there just for Barbie and she in Barbie Land controls everything he knows or does. I am 77 and have known a lot of little boys and if any little boy had decided to play with a Ken doll he would have been accused of being gay because Ken is for Barbie.

Why not throw some of the clothes house, Barbie has had thousands of outfits, at least 10 or 12 a year and Ken didn't come out until 1961 and then he would have maybe 3 a year come out so why not get rid of her clothes or part of them.

If you watch this again watch Barbie's face because she says she was almost laughing because on every take, Ryan Gosling would say something different when she says she is willing to finally be his girlfriend and they chose sublime to use. She says she had a hard time not laughing.

I have know girls so upset with their lives that they actually hung Barbie from a noose. Barbies are 100 % controlled by the kids. A lot of girls never even wanted a Ken doll and when they had them they rarely played with them. I know boys that have absolutely destroyed their sisters Barbies and I have never known a boy who would play with a Ken because they were always a girl's toy. Right now my granddaughter's Barbie house has more Power Rangers than Barbies in it.
