Yang is still Republican-lite. His proposal for universal basic income is just stealth welfare reform. What he proposes is $1,000 a month and then getting rid of welfare benefits....which is lower than the amount that people already receive! People will be worse off. Not only that, but he wants to pay for his proposals using sales taxes, which are completely regressive. He wants to cut benefits for the poor and then make them pay for it through VAT!! He belongs in the Republican party because he just wants to kick poor people right in the face.

Meeting with people regardless of political affiliation. He also happens to be a great father and husband which he has stated as two of the most important things to him.

Auditor is one of those positions that is more technical than political. If people believe you can do the math, balance the books, and keep corruption in check, it doesn't matter what party you're from. That's quite a bit different than how people view the job of President. Though we would like be believe competence matters there as well, competence is just harder to define in that job.
