Hands down the best commentary on bitcoin yet. Few see that btc isnt a hedge against inflation (well, it is that too), but it is a hedge against central banking!!! This has never existed before in the history of the world! Gold was always manipulated because people don't take custody and btc solved that bc it is a digital store as opposed to analog. So good!!!!!

I spent 16 years paying off student loan debt and did so by working two jobs ; had I just paid off the debt as planned I would still be paying off this debt into retirement .I never considered the opportunity cost when selecting my degree . social service work doesn’t pay well but yet requires a degree. Still working two jobs in my 40’s to have something for retirement . ..can’t wait to read this book . Great content

Currency creation is interesting but few understand how it works. There are 2 types currency in circulation: 1. Eternally circulating currency (central bank printing; dangerous) 2. Indebtedness currency from principal (privatized banks): roughly 70% of new currency created annually. Principal currency is destroyed once paid back. So private banks are constantly creating and destroying principal currency cyclically. While central bank currency circulates forever permanently influencing inflation because it is never destroyed. Hence the need for quantitative easing. Fascinating how this works. Only time will tell when this all pans out in the long run.

about real estate (and bonds) : actually a lot of people are buying real estate as a hard asset, which increases the price of housing. making it more close to impossible to get a home. many real estate holders will actually keep some hard money (or sound money) if that was an option. it could not be much. and it could be. but high housing prices are defiantly part of the fiat printing.

Dr, SDA is correct on most of what if theories but without the international basket which evaluates different currencies 3 things comes to mind as it may not get to be world's legal tender. first it may act like gold , 2 nd , like EURO with different values in which country it is used, third free floating.

Fractional reserve is the banking term used to describe how much money banks can lend vs. what they actually have. It is a percentage that is legislated by the government. I think it is something like 10%. In other words if you deposit $100, they can in turn loan out $1,000. They are not unlimited in money printing. I seem to remember reading this somewhere a long time ago. Can any one confirm this or not?

You are right Matthew. Commercial banks in the US (such as bank of America) only need to hold 10% of customer deposits in their reserves at any given time. However, central banks (called the federal reserve in the US) are a completely different beast. They have the ability to create money out of thin air. The Federal Reserve does so by buying bonds issued by the US Treasury and loaning them dollars in return. Hope that helps :)

This is correct. I learned about fractional reserve on my Economics 101 class 20 years ago.... Banks can lend 10 times what they have in deposits. But this interview and information puts everything on a whole new context. Eye opening!

the clue is the word RESERVE. ie: the money that is ALREADY on the balance sheet. This money is re-lent, but those new loans in turn, create new money from nowhere, which in turn increases the balance sheet..double dipping if you will.

What if someone steal your personal data through virus or somethings like that and threaten to reveal everything unless you send him bitcoin. You cant find him. So it is dangerous when use like that, can that be regulated?

Ok serious question here... How can Bitcoin replace Fiat money if it takes so long for a transaction in Bitcoin to be finalized? Current transactions are instant. How would this work with Bitcoin?

Lightning network. If you're talking about bank-reliant transactions, you hopefully know the difference between transaction approval and settlement.
