Comprehensible Input will make you fluent! ...assuming that you're using it alongside other things. There's not one single resource or one single method that is going to take you all the way to fluency, but Comprehensible Input and these channels are a great way to help you get there! They help you with learning new words, learning pronunciation, and even learning Kanji (thanks to the ones that have Japanese subtitles on the screen). Make sure you check out their channels! I linked them in the description.

Nihongo Learning is excellent. I just started classes for conversation with Yuta. He's such a great and genuine guy. Happy to see you give him a mention. (btw... you picked 4 of my absolute favorite channels... I'd add in one "secret tip" as well... Japanese Super Immersion is a gem. Basically two guys, who are good friends, simply having conversations. They have various levels and really it's good fun.)

I've been watching Speak Japanese Naturally regularly for weeks and it's been SUCH a useful channel, besides also being very informative about different places in Japan. Her voice is very calming and I've learnt a lot!

I've been watching all of these for a while and they've all been excellent! Naoko was the first that I started watching and her on-screen imagery helped so much. I agree with your assessment of Speak Japanese Naturally, but even as a beginner you can pick up quite a lot from context and it's a very nice feeling recognising her words. If I were to add one more to this list it would be Bitesize Japanese Podcast with Leila. She also speaks very clearly and at a nice pace (not too slow, not super fast) and she uses a mix of harder and easier sentences so I always feel like I've got enough background to keep me interested while still lots of room for improvement. She's also just very charming and talks about interesting topics imo 😊

This is an awesome video. Not only do you go over four different resources, but you also explain what sets them apart from the rest. It's a new form of learning that I didn't even think about, and now that I'm about 4 months into the kaishi 1.5 k flashcard deck, and a couple of weeks on WaniKani This seems like the perfect transition into learning more about the dialect and spoken language. Love the video I hope you keep up with these types of information on videos, as hard as it may seem! 頑張ってください!

@@yorozuyaDavid Here's what I got from what I've seen so far of these other channels I like or think most match ones you recommended (I say this cause I've spent more time amassing channels than extensively going through their library of videos 😅); - Kaname Naito (Often creates humorous dialogue over a topic of Japanese language or culture) - RiceBurger Studios (Often humorous educative animations. Also has podcast channel) - けんさんおかえり / Japanese Conversations - Benjiro - Beginner Japanese (Another conversation channel with a modest handful of videos but all about an hour long) - Akiko_Japanese_Conversations (What I like a lot about these conversation channels is they're designed for you to listen to the Japanese while getting a smattering of English translations that may help you better understand what's being said as a whole) - あかね的日本語教室 [or; @Akane-JapaneseClass] (vlog type videos with a focus towards Japanese learners) - Satou's Nihongo Playground (Mainly plays games & does language/culture lessons) - 【Wasabi】Listening daily Japanese (Mainly a podcast-style channel but focused on comprehensible input) I probably missed some but hopefully you like these!

I forgot to also mention; - Little Kokoro | Japanese Lessons She creates mainly comprehensible input content using animated objects and people as she speaks. Currently she ranges it to varying difficulties of Beginner to Intermediate. (Edit) Bonus channel worth looking into; - Learn Japanese with Tanaka san Tanaka makes drawings as well to go with their lessons, on top of having currently 17 episodes of radio/podcast videos (w/ Japanese subtitles)

When I first saw the thumbnail I thought “No way! All my favorite Japanese channels collabed!” Well, I’m glad I’m doing something right 😅 I have a few videos from them that I watch/listen to repeatedly, and I’ve found that I’m getting much better at understanding sentence structure and parsing out individual words, even if I don’t yet understand what they mean. Along with studying vocabulary separately, it’s so rewarding to come back to these videos and understand a little bit more every time.
@yorozuyaDavid3 күн бұрын
Haha, sorry, didn't mean to suggest that this was their collab, but... I'd totally be down to see a collab with all of them 👀

I want to also shout out @JapanesewithShun, it's less on the direct comprehensible side, but the pace he speaks and the topics he speaks on tend to be a lot easier to follow. My reading far surpasses my listening right now, so it's a skill I'm trying to build up!

Ayyy, I follow them all, and I’m glad that someone finally talked about the CJ website! If you become a member, you can check out the reading section which is great also there's a Japanese subtitle which helped me a lot with recognizing the kanji (but I'm turning off the subtitles lately so I can improve my listening skill) . I’m also a big fan of CI especially after learning Spanish this way 💞

Yeah, thank you for the correction. For the most part, I meant to say that there were no /hard/ subtitles (subtitles that are automatically baked into the video). I'll do my best not to misrepresent stuff in the future!

I want to start learning Japanese after learning Arabic and Chinese after learning Japanese. Is the order OK? Arabic is there because I was born in Arabia although left it at the very early age of my life so I don't know the language although can read the simplified texts without understanding the meaning. Know some japanese because of watching TOO MUCH romantic anime movies. and want to learn chinese because it seems interesting. I heard Arabic language helps your brain some way and improve it. So I made it first in the serial. WHat do you think?
@yorozuyaDavid5 күн бұрын
Hey there! As far as I've seen/heard, the order of learning languages doesn't really matter all /that/ much. I just personally think (depending on the person) it's not a great idea to learn two languages at once, because it's easy to mix them up in your head -- especially if the languages are similar. (My friend tried learning Korean and Japanese at the same time and had to quit Korean because it was hurting her ability to learn both) It's really cool that you're wanting to learn Arabic because of your heritage though! I haven't heard anything about Arabic language specifically helping your brain in some way, but I'd definitely be curious to see any documentation of that. I think the order that you should learn the languages should just be... learn the ones you're most interested in first!

It's a bit misleading to say CIJ has no subtitles. Maybe youtube doesn't have it, but they put an enormous amount of work into their transcripts for their website, which make for excellent reading practice when someone is ready for it. You can also turn the subtitles on and off as you please on their website's video player.
@yorozuyaDavid6 күн бұрын
@@pplayouts Sorry, I didn't mean it as a criticism, it's actually me praising them for it. I'm surprised that the person from the website that commented on this video didn't mention it. Also, would you consider transcripts to be subtitles? Or are you saying they have both?
@pplayouts5 күн бұрын
@@yorozuyaDavid They have both: while watching you can turn on the subtitles, which are human written and vetted. You can also read the subtitles/transcript separately under the video or from their "Read" page
@yorozuyaDavid5 күн бұрын
@ Ohhh, interesting. I sent the script for this video (prior to recording) to my friend who actually pays for the membership on the website and she didn't mention it haha. Maybe she thought I was just referring to the youtube channel. I wish that video annotations were still a thing (I would put a correction on the video)... sucks that they got rid of them like 8 years ago lol.
