💡Today's Question of the Day💡 "Which ending stood out to you the most between Toji's fight and Sukuna's fight?" Feel free to leave your thoughts in a reply under this post! 👍

The reason Toji killed himself was that he was essentially the closest thing to a puppet gone mad he had to kill himself or megumi would have been killed

I think Sukuna’s fight, because it’s important to the story; why he was able to use fire, and it also ties into why he’s interested in Megumi. In Sukuna’s fight, you really get to understand his character and it puts everything that people have said about him into perspective. He just likes to have fun and do what he wants. He doesn’t live being constrained by rules or plans. Him killing Jogo and acknowledging him was his way of showing love. I think this is where you start to see that Gege didn’t write Sukuna to be a typical shounen villain. There is a logic behind what he does, in that he respects strength and despises weakness. It will get expanded upon later on with Yuuji, but it’s an interesting thing to think about , and important that you remember it. this is the longest comment I’ve ever written on KZbin 😂

@@yamiscape Thanks for taking the time to write this 🤣 I definitely agree with you here though. Both fights were great but I feel like before now I knew very little about Sukuna as a person and after his conversation with Jogo, I feel like I'm seeing him in a whole new light now

Do you remember Toji was programmed to kill the sorcerer? Once Toji realized Megumi was his son, he killed himself because he didn't want to kill his own son.

Thanks a lot for clearing that up for me 😅 I guess I was confused because on the rooftop it sounded like Toji had taken full control but I guess the grandson just moreso lost control. Idk I'm still a bit confused there ngl.
@djibrilr6s
@djibrilr6s Жыл бұрын
yeah basically the grandma's technique is out of control, because of Toji's 0 Cursed Energy body. The technique is supposed to end when the body is out of Cursed Energy or when the caster dies, but since Toji doesn't have any (heavenly restriciton making his body special) it overwrote the grandson's soul so he just kept on obeying the command (to kill all sorcerers) even though the body should have went back to normal. @@CloudyCrow

@@djibrilr6s You’re half right. Toji doesn’t follow granny’s last order (kill all sorcerer) rather he’s an empty vessel acting on pure instinct which is to fight whoever is the strongest

@@CloudyCrow Granny Ogami commanded Toji to kill all of the sorcerers around before she died and that command was running in Toji's head. Due to a number of aberrations like her dying and the technique not being allowed to discontinue after her death, Toji became a puppet of carnage. The only thing was he was focused on killing the strongest sorcerers around, not just any sorcerer He obviously saw Megumi as being stronger than the others which is why he targeted him. Once he realised that Megumi was his son than he decided to kill himself rather than letting the command cause him to kill his own son

Megumi was the strongest at that time because he was the least injured after the battle. Also, remember Toji pretty much wanted Gojo to take his son so that the Zenin wouldn't have him.

Toji certainly wouldn't kill Megumi. Just remember what he thinks at the end of his life, it's not strength, it's not weakness, it's not combat, it's not money, it's the family he no longer has...

Toji was basically unconsciously fighting the strongest under the seance technique. He didn’t really have a choice. It was explained in the manga that in that moment he broke free of the seance technique temporarily, that’s why his eyes were no longer black. And yes, he killed himself to prevent Megumi from being hurt once he lost control.
@iffatbushrasuhi2860
@iffatbushrasuhi2860 Жыл бұрын
No, he didn't know Megumi was his son because he was unconsciously going after the strongest around him. When he did finally realize it, he thought back to the moment when he asked Gojo to take in his son and that's why he asked Megumi his name; just to make sure that Gojo actually took in his son and that Megumi wasn't associated with the Zenin clan at all.

He only realised he was his son once he realised he was fighting a 10 shadows user. He realised that when his foot sunk into that shadow pool you can see his facial expression change after that and then he recalled that old memory about inherited techniques.

"His fangs were constantly pointed at the strongest" is the reason why toji went after Megumi after Dagon because he was now the strongest in the room, at the end of their fight he came through hence why his eyes were normal and he didn't want to kill his own son, he was glad Megumi was a Fushiguro and not a Zenin, Toji despised the Zenin family. Amazing episode and animation as always, Sukuna is just too much of a problem for everyone, sorcerers and cursed spirits both
@CloudyCrow

Yeah I 100% agree! One thing I really like about this anime is that you have Gojo who's out of everyone's league on the sorcerer's side and you have Sukuna who's out of everyone's league on the cursed spirit's side.

Remember Toji has become a murder machine now and when he realizes that Megumi is his son (confirming after asking Megumi his identity), Toji kills himself off to save his son's life, which means at the end of the day, he still loves and cares about Megumi (he thought about his son every time right before he died). I don't have anything against Toji, to be honest. He was an amazing husband to Megumi's mom (that is what Gege Akutami said in an interview) but unfortunately turned out to be a deadbeat dad simply because Megumi's mom passed away right after Megumi's birth which is really sad and heartbreaking. Also, the way the Zenin family treated him while he was growing up (like the way they treat Maki now), I understand why he turned out that way. Nonetheless, he was a cool top-tier character like Gojo and we love him for that. RIP Toji Fushiguro. 🙏❤

Thanks for clearing this up for me! Up until now I thought him being a "murdering machine" was a metaphor and thought he was still in control. I forgot about the old lady's final command that literally made him a murdering machine after all 😂 I also love how happy he seemed to be after hearing that Megumi was a Fushiguro instead of a Zenin. He really looked like a proud father during his final moments.

With toji and megumi death scene - toji senses are perfected hence when in contact with megumi and noticing his brilliant eye for an eye counter, he smelt and felt the same energy he felt when carrying megumi as a baby. Then to top it off for our man, his son kept the fushiguro name, which toji took his wife's name ❤

@@CloudyCrow I’m glad Megumi’s trump card didn’t get interrupted this time. Ironically he summoned him in a situation where he didn’t actually think he would die. You’ll see next episode why he risks his life to do it. It’s the exact reason why Gojo said a user of the Six Eyes and a 10 Shadows user killed each other in the past. It’s also why Toji and Naobito were so eager talking about Megumi inheriting the hereditary technique (10 shadows) this episode. I will say that if Megumi had actually used it in episode 5 against Sukuna, he would have given Sukuna a really hard time. It’s REALLY that broken and op. I don’t know who your favorite character is but if Megumi is your favourite then you’ll be happy. I just hope that they don’t make the fight too short or explain its powers too much because it has a lot of significance in the story both power-wise and symbolically. This will be the point where we know why there’s so much fuss made over Megumi by Sukuna and Gojo
