@Micah Burns that’s not true at all. Jesus never rejected the Roman government he simply disagreed with him. If he had rejected them then why would he say pay unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. Politics effects your daily life and you are involved almost whether you want to be or not, especially being a Christian which is the very antithesis of governmental power.
@andrewmontalbano95543 жыл бұрын
@Micah Burns I never said he took political power. Likewise, politicians reflect the power of the government. If Jesus did reject power (since I somehow misread your comment) then why would you idly sit by a let the government scoop up the power?

I thought this was going to be about processed foods lolol. I agree, I have friends that are hyper political and they just seem angry all the time to me and I'm just like, "do you enjoy being this way?" Both left and right are just always angry, it's like a mental illness. It doesn't serve you to be angry at the world. Pick yourself up, see the beauty in life and try to do the best that you can for one another. That's it. Everyone has their opinions but if you hold those opinions so strongly to the point where you are letting it consume you, it's not healthy. Anger is addictive, just like gossip and drama. Some people just love to dwell in those things not realizing how harmful it is to their mental health.

I have been inspired to volunteer in my local church's student ministry. My heart breaks for our students and teens as they deal with all of the cultural and technological changes and are more anxious, depressed, and isolated than ever before despite the constant "connection" social media claims to provide.
@brightpage10203 жыл бұрын
This speaks to our anxiety. Look at any narcissistic or abusive relationship, whether on a person to person or government to peoples' levels. When people feel the need for control by anger, it usually masks fear, deep hurt, pain, shame, or insecurity. What are we scared or ashamed of in ourselves that we have to pound down other points of view before we let each other in to see it?
@rosiepalmer73593 жыл бұрын
this is so true! and its not been enough to just tell people that their being angry isn't the solution, we needed this detail and explanation. This way people's egos aren't damaged when they take 'stop being angry' as 'you're being childish and lesser than me', and people realise that those saying this care just as much but focus their emotions on addressing a solution to the issue at hand.

And vote. Noticed a lot of people I know on the extreme right and left haven't been voting. The reality is, voting does matter because even if your candidate or policy doesn't win, you can bet politicians pay attention to ground gained/lost. The easiest way to enact change is to vote. Especially in local elections. Local elections will most likely affect your life far greater than federal yet they have the lowest voter turnout. Plus most major politicians start at the local level then move up.

A lot of people are upset because they can just feel that something is wrong in America. Income and wealth inequality is trending towards Medieval levels. And that isn't just people being jealous like Dave calls it. So a lot of what you are describing is just a symptom, it's not the problem itself. Another funny thing is that if any American tries to help other people, they are called a Communist or Socialist.
@kratostomatoes85873 жыл бұрын
The problem is their perspective of "Helping other Americans" involves stealing from those who work to "help" those who willingly do not. If they want to help so much then go volunteer instead of mandating with violence(try not paying your taxes and see how far you get without going to jail) that someone else fund your charity.

The problem with John Delony is that he's TOO soft, too kind and passive. A man with a feminine personality is not fitting in with leader types- the men who we actually need to defend our liberty and bravely wave the flag of truth. America is burning and we actively need proverbial "firefighting" citizens. As a woman in her 20s, I can appreciate that Delony appeals to sensitive topics that of relationships. He's shown he can help guide masculine men in that area to be better partners. However... please stay far away from anything about politics, John. It's cringey. Leave that to Dave Ramsey.

Yes, you are justified in your hatred and rage - completely. But that doesn't make it a wise path to follow. The point of the entire article is that hatred and rage, although natural reactions to the world's problems, doesn't actually fix any of the problems. All the negativity does is make your life more miserable and the lives of those around you more miserable.
