adding in in-game examples of the topic you are discussing is a very nice touch, and can help you carve out a niche for your youtube channel as you create more of these types of videos, so I think this is a great idea and you should add that in your subsequent videos to help grow your channel

As a Zeku player, when people actually start to delay rise it throws me off a bit because 90% of the cheesy meaty setups and frame trap stuff you do is aimed towards the enemy doing quick rise. Young Zeku can do really annoying bushinsho meaty loop stuff in the corner only if people quick or back rise. Them delaying throws that kind of stuff off quite a bit. The dash under wall jump crossup stuff is the same. Delay rise just disarms it.

Not often will you see someone make a concise point like Brian did in this video, then go on to show you an example of just that exact thing happening later. Really drives the point home. Great video!! For me all my rises are incredibly inconsistent, sometimes i’ll back roll, quick rise, and even don’t rise at all. Usually i always try to rise as soon as im knocked down though. I’ll definitely try to be much more observant on knockdowns but thinking back for the most part many players do just backroll.

If this mechanic didn't matter why would people try to devise set-ups that cover all options?
@chaotickreg70243 жыл бұрын
In Tekken, teching is huge. You have a lot of defenses against Oki, you just have to know what your opponent's options and tendencies are. If you just hold back then a smart Kazuya will Oki you until you lose every single time, you have to get up quick with Up and then block low. Oki then becomes a mixup, it's more than just a 50/50. Sometimes staying down and taking an attack is worth it to avoid getting combo reset. God I love Tekken. It's like a giant sandwich of fighting game mechanics that other games do not have. Even just wall spats have so much variation to them.
@And3cha3 жыл бұрын

@Sestze3 жыл бұрын
You can flicker between down and back as you're being knocked down to pretty much pick at random between the two rises. As long as you're consistently inconsistent with what recovery you're using, you're forcing your opponent to react to the tech type to get their meaty - if they do it incorrectly they can eat a counterhit or a whiff punish.

Depending on the knockdown/context will make reacting to it easier or harder. Everyone has their mental limit for being perfect, even pros eat wakeup buttons from time to time due to misstiming a meaty.

I embarrassed for asking this but I've been playing sf5 for 3 months now and I still dont know how to do a V-Reversal how do I do it?
It should be in the movelist. It's typically forward + all 3 punches or all 3 kicks at once while in blockstun.
@cloudtf4583 жыл бұрын
After you block an attack, quickly press forward and either ALL THREE PUNCHES or ALL THREE KICKS. It depends on your character. To see whoch your character uses, checm the V-System in the movelist.
@mrstrawhat92273 жыл бұрын
Press forward, and either kkk or ppp at the same time. It depends on your character so check their command list. Also, you need to be blocking when you do it.

Depends on the game but in mk or a lot of anime games you can cause setups to be nullified, or even punish them for whiffing their oki pressure
@Sakaki983 жыл бұрын
Killing time to not have to deal with setups like Kolin’s meaty ice things, Guile’s VT booms, Urien’s Aegis, or Rashid’s tornado VT. It can help make the opponent waste VT time, reduce the chip you take on successful defense, and reduce the amount of mixups you have to take.
@TheOxiongarden3 жыл бұрын
I will give you example. With Laura if I commande throw you, I can time a setup so that my light elbow arrives meaty and becomes +1 instead of -2 or I can dash and command throw. If you stay on the ground my command throw whiffs and I get punished and my elbow is impossible to time for a meaty. 2nd example with Nash, my sub. After heavy scythe, I can double dash and meaty. It's automatic, nothing to time, I can't miss it. If you mash you die. I f you delay tech there's a better chance of mee missing my meaty because I have to manually time it

Answer to the question in the chat during the video: "Is there ever a time you should just do nothing and delay rise?" Situationally, yes. Say Ed's V-trigger one orb is floating across the screen and a quick rise would make you stand up into it. It might just be better to lie down on this one and let it get behind you. Otherwise Ed can do what he likes to try and mix you up. He'll still get a mix-up but there's no reason to give him the extra tool.
