Linesville Tractor Parade is a huge hit, so much so there are at least 2 others in the same area, The pond is a win, Great job figuring out the problems.

That's a nice parade Adam for sure. The pond update was a great idea to put together over a week of weather, rain, snow no sun. . It's definitely getting full.

that was fun to see the progress as it is happening. It is amazing how many more gallons it must take on a daily basis to increase the same amount of height as the diameter gets larger and larger.

Not boring. I started watching your channel because of the pond build. Your approach was very different from Bama Bass that was happening about the same time. Different resources and different reasons to build the pond. Still watch every video from both channels, as well as Letsdig18. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

That’s really cool hometown!….you should dig a nice trench from the side of pond two to pond three and make a brook style spillway or get nasty and do it from big pond all the way to pond two…with a little bridge action somewhere….best to start with a short run most likely.

Water that comes out of the ground. Is always 55 degrees if it’s from the water table. This is the premise to geothermal heat pumps. We pump 90-120degree water into a pipe that drops 50 to 800’ depending on building size. Same with heating 38 degree water dropped into the earth the water comes back 55 every time. We can eliminate heat or add it. Geothermal heat pump. The water can cool down from 55 at the surface running threw pipes etc. PS. Spinning turbine for those times with no sun. !!!! Yes they need a lot of maintenance it’s worth it. Turbines on small scale are way more efficient then sun. You can hook a motor to it worst case. The combination of water /wind/sun. The new tech released next year will give you so much more capability on your homestead.
@LorisSawmill2 сағат бұрын
THROUGH pipes. more efficient THAN sun. Can't spell?

Thanks for the update. I was wondering also. It's coming along Great, I think. When it warms up you might have more water than you can handle. Hope not. Thanks, Adam
@petenelson81363 сағат бұрын
I hope you have a spillway for pond #3. I can see it overflowing later this spring when the heavy rains come and the other 2 ponds are full. You may also want to put some gravel/stone under the exit pipe into pond #3 so you don't undercut your bank as the water comes out. Love your channel, thanks for the pond update.

Get a small inverter, a few AGM batteries and set up some solar storage for the pond pump.
@1amaker4 сағат бұрын
Once the pond is full a complete recap video would be awesome. Even if the video is sped up go from bare ground field mowing to full pond and point in between.
@HometownAcresСағат бұрын
That’s a good idea
@billthompson9482Сағат бұрын
You need to slope the pump hose so it gravity drains when not in use this would prevent ice from forming. Perhaps add a pro vent at the high point of the pipe to allow for air intake when off and seal when under pressure.
@I8U4FUNСағат бұрын
suggestion, how about establishing a full off grid power system with setting up lithium batteries with a power inverter? That would help you on those continuous cloudy days during winter in your geographic location.

@HometownAcresСағат бұрын
The water will just go to a 30” culvert under the road and into a nearby creek
@twodogsandtheirfamily3 сағат бұрын
what about doubling the solar panels and adding a battery or two? Something like the Epoch 460ah heated battery? That should run the pump for several hours offbattery. 🐾🐾

I'm intrigued with total gallons in the main pond and the weight of the water compacting the base and side wall of the dam

I look forward to your pond videos. Glad to see the big pond is finally getting full. Btw, did you give up on the ram pump?
@HometownAcresСағат бұрын
Yes. It seemed kind of finicky. It would run for 2-3 days at a time and then just randomly stop and it was kind of a pain in the but to get going again
@sharpshorts2 сағат бұрын
Ram pump from pond 3 into pond 2 ? How big a ram pump would you need to pump from pond 2 into pond 1 using the same line as the solar pump?
@HometownAcresСағат бұрын
A ram pump needs flowing water which I do not have in this situation

Maybe you should have buried the pipe from pond 2 to the main pond below the frost line.

I did. I just haven’t cut the extra pipe that comes out of the ground yet. That’s the only part that froze

Oh, I guess that's the downside of a solar pump. It'll shut off when the sun goes down and the pipe will freeze...

If the entire line is buried it shouldn’t

It is recommended to clean any lake with a mini dredger. It is necessary to remove bottom sediments. A mini dredger can be assembled from two motor pumps and a raft.
