The Nolichucky does have a dam, in Greene County, TN off the Asheville Hwy. It’s been around over 100 years and dams up Davy Crockett Lake. But it’s used for flood control and overspill now.

Deosn't Tennessee have two (2) senators that can file for wild and scenic river status? Why wouldn't they want to protect the rivers in Tennessee??

The wild and scenic river act does not necessary protect streams or flows in any way, Deschutes river in Oregon... Wild and Scenic... yet there are 5 dams on it and winter flows on some Wild and Scenic sections are dropped down to 15-25 CFS from 2000+ in a single day stranding and killing thousands of fish every year in the fall. Summer flows take 2000+ cfs in one section and divert all but 15-100cfs into irrigation ditches for hobby farmers to water their sage brush. It is a pretty sign but provides little actual protection for the river.
