I got Q3, it’s a pleasure to use hold and use every time. Of course pictures are amazing.

I’m a Q2 user, and the big leap isn’t the Leica price…it is stepping back from zoom lenses, and being willing to crop if needed. The ergonomics and tactile pleasure of quickly changing settings is unbeatable.

I got the Q3 for landscape. That was the best move I did. Still getting used to the 28 mm lens. As you said in the video, the lens is so good

I was in Barcelona last week with my new Q3 and my a7IV as well as the 50 1.4 GM. I took a lot of pictures with both cameras. The Q3 is so much fun, the viewfinder and the DNG files are amazing even without editing.

Maybe should do more night photography.... then the Sony combo has advantages.
@nielsfreidel8 ай бұрын
@@KeAiFu I would slightly disagree ;) think the sensor of the Leica Q3 is performing a bit better in low light actually then the Sony...autofocus, video etc Sony has definitely more advantages... what I mainly wanted to say with this video is not which is the best camera...which is the best camera for me personally - mainly because it so nice to use...and that makes me take more photos with it ;)

It is a great camera, but I really don't like the 25/28 focal length. I'm a 35mm or 50mm shooter. Now, if Leica would put some sort of tri-elmar on it with 28-35-50, that would be a banger of a setup.
@MeAMuse8 ай бұрын
It sounds like you have shot with it? Personally I am lean to 35mm and bought the Q3 thinking that I would shoot it in the 35mm crop mode, but actually I find myself embracing it... I have to see the world a bit different (I find myself using shadow, frame within frame, reflections, etc. more). I doubt Leica will do the tri-emar thing for this camera... I would pull sales from other systems too much.

I have the Q3, but I wouldn't say that it is "the only camera you need". It's very fun to shoot, and fairly flexible, but I have at least 3 other cameras in my kit and they all have their place!
@nielsfreidel8 ай бұрын
I agree...of course you need a bit more "drastic" here on KZbin...what I meant is more: if I only take one camera with me and its for joy and fun, then its this one...and if you want to get your foot into photography this one makes you take more pictures, get better, love photography more etc...
@ReneGrothmann8 ай бұрын
It's a solid, well made, pleasantly looking and high quality camera, no doubt. I love the size and the compactness. But you can achieve the "look" with other cameras too at much less cost. Direct comparisons with Nikon ZF/Z8 or a Canon full frame show this. Moreover, not being able to change the lens severely restricts the camera for most photographers.

This is the best review for the Leica Q3 I’ve seen so far. Not over hyped and very honest. I too bought the q3 for personal use. I’m not rich or something (although buying an a7cii with GM lens would cost practically the same and I wouldn’t have to write this disclaimer) but I had an XT-5 which I loved and 6 lenses, and I found it to be too big of a setup and a hurdle to take to vacations and the images were too mushy for my taste. So I sold all my gear to get this camera. It’s been a month or so, this camera came with me to a vacation in Amsterdam and boy, I don’t regret it one bit. The images are amazing (Though I still can’t seem to get the Leica look every time, I don’t know why that is), the color rendering is superb and it’s so fun to use. I actually fussed a lot less with the camera, as I snapped the photo I wanted and moved on with my trip, knowing for sure that it will be a good photo and in focus and I don’t have to take another 6-7 backups just to make sure I got it right. That for itself makes it the best camera I ever owned.
@nielsfreidel8 ай бұрын
Omer thanks a lot for your comment and the explanation! I totally agree! You dont have to be rich, you just need to make a trade - one camera, with one lens against a whole set up for example...and I think (as you said as well) people will not regret it ;) this is the camera you like to take with you - everywhere you go - and thats what makes it so special :)

28mm is nice but i would really miss the wider angles. A nice 18mm or even a 10mm, that`s why i have A7CII.

Have to agree with you, photography can become very complicated, it’s a subjective business and no one will ever completely agree. This camera takes the faff out of day to day shooting. It also encourages you to get out and shoot and thats were photography needs to be.

Im waiting to see if the fujifilm GFX 50R #2 fixed rangefinder will be able to compete with this camera. Fujifilm would have to include ibis, reduce its size and make sure its lens is epic. The unique ability of the Q3 to change aspects ratios is incredibly useful. Of course offer film simulations and come in under 3500.00 the film simulations are only good for smaller jpeg files which is great for workflow.

@nielsfreidel7 ай бұрын

Thanks for making this video, I enjoyed it. However, I did find that the "flash" effects you used in transition between scenes is quite annoying. I realize that this is purely subjective, but it gave me a headache and didn't add anything of importance to the video.

Beside the camera is for millionairs.. I dont want to focus manually each time.. The person will be gone until i finish ..Yes I know, one can work here with the hyperfocal distance, but this works well only up to 35mm lense. But I also like 50mm + lenses from time to time. And picture quality? Well we anyway adjust everything in post in LR?? This camera seems to be for people who like to show: "look here, I have a Leica".. And one more I will tell you, or at least propability is high. With the red Leica logo its just a question of time when you will be attaced and the camera will be stolen. You can then be happy if you remain unhurt..

@@nielsfreidel When I want to use autofocus, why then to buy a Leica? There are plenty cameras with better AF on the market. And sure. I dont need to be a millionaire. Sure I can also work for 3 years and safe each penny just to buy a 6000,- Euro camera. Seems you rich people lost all sens for the real hard working life..
@BrandonTalbot7 ай бұрын
You don't have to be a millionaire to buy a Leica. You can find plenty of different models for substantial discounts if you're willing to buy used. Clearly your opinion of Leica and who would use Leica is purely out of perception and not out of experience. They make beautiful cameras, well built, extremely satisfying to use and create incredible images. Substantially more to them than just "look here, I have a Leica.".

I don’t get it. 28mm is useless to me. And no optical viewfinder - which is the biggest reason to invest in anything Leica in the first place - given where the rest of the industry is moving towards unfortunately.
