@@neetea2What he’s saying is that we don’t do what other groups like teach generational racism. If a person of color develops a racial bias it’s typically reactionary as opposed to fed by family and friends. We don’t smile in your face then act funny towards you when we’re around our people or talk behind your backs. We say how we feel right to your face and if it turns to a fight it is what it is.

@@neetea2In Foundational Black American households, we don't teach our kids to not play with other kids based on race. Other groups do that but we do not, nor have we ever. History doesn't lie. Now what we will do is teach our kids to be on point, to recognize the racism coming from others. Which is a consistent thing.
@5Texas5

I w never thought about it that way, but anecdotally that’s true. Black don’t teach blacks to hate people because of race. To be totally honest, they will inadvertently teach you common traits of people that don’t look like you. As anyone should, so you just own what to look for and expect. For example: Arabs think you’re slow, so be careful doing business with them. They will try to get over because they think you don’t know what’s going on.

I’m a Mexican that grew up in Watts in the 80s, and the majority of friends and classmates were black. I saw firsthand the affects of the crack epidemic on the black community. We were broke as hell but I felt so blessed that i had my two parents at home, whereas most of my black friends lived with their grandma or an extended family member. We moved out of Watts in ‘89, right before the race riots, which I’m glad I didn’t experience. From my view point, it was just a volatile situation with drugs, the gang culture , and the changing racial makeup of the community. I had good and bad experiences from that time but nothing that would lead me to condemn a race or community of people. On the contrary, even at that young age I understood the socio-economic, cultural, and political conditions that contributed that situation. Today, I don’t want that experience for my kids, but for me it was that immigrant experience that made me the person I am today, so I wouldn’t change it. Much love and respect!

*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ For the most part, Foundational Black Americans have been purely reactionary when it comes to the so called beefs with other groups. Let's keep it fonky here. We've always been accepting of other ethnicities. After all, the majority of them are in this country because of legislation that Blacks fought for during the late 50's into the 1960's with the Civil Rights acts ! We were under the false impression that We would have allies to help fight white supremacy, but were sadly mistaken. All of these groups started identifying as white themselves, especially mexicans dating back to the 1930's ! Ultimately there can be coexistence but as Foundational Black Americans: We have no friends. We have no allies. We have no coalitions. We all We got ! 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾

the Mexican dude is trying to say blacks don't respect elders when that's a lie because if Mexican gang members respected their elders or anyone else's they wouldn't be shooting up entire neighborhoods scaring the residents whom live there for many years. i really think people should stop giving gang members the stage to talk unless it's to stop violence and make peace. but all we see is people praising gang members not admonishing them for destroying families. calling themselves reputables and so on. there's nothing honorable about spending over 40 years of one's life dedicated to destruction all it shows is your a failure and the only thing you've been good at is negativity. i think all gang members need to focus making legal money being good fathers and moving out the hood for good. the streets always get the W. i was once involved so i know and i did 3 years and I can absolutely understand many years later the time i wasted and being loyal to people whom were in fact hoping for my downfall. now at 36 i live in Africa and i advise all youth to explore the world man the world isn't America get out your comfort zone open your mind to new things and appreciate life. because being a high status gang members holds no wieght to the law abiding citizens whom pay taxes and contribute to bettering the society. the lawyers the DAS the judges the jails is all corrupt and they are all working together to being down blacks and other minorities. it's a big business but if you serious about your block and you are a high status member why can't you stop gentrification of your own neighborhood in which you claim? you have absolutely no say so or money or authority to stop anything in the next 10 years your hood will be full of yuppies that don't have a clue what and who you are but you'll be the only idiot taking the bus from you new apartment somewhere on the outskirts of town back in to the city to stand on your newly gentrified block holding on to what once was. lastly youll find your enemy becomes some of your closest friends once you actually get to know each other. we are all children of Adam plain and simple.

They treat blacks bad all down there and Gasper Yanga and Haiti feed these people from French. Afro Aztecs helped them fight off the Vikings and what do these mongoloids Indians do? Join the Spanish invaders against the black Aztecs cuz they didn’t wanna be #2 anymore.🤦🏾‍♂️Sound familiar? Then they was double crossed and enslaved raped immediately and they still haven’t learned as history repeats.🤔

Listen, we should all respect our elders, but sometimes kids get out of line and need to be put back in line. With that said, if A Black lady wants to sell cornbread or chicken in East LA, that should also be respected. If a Black family wants to move there, that should be respected too. And vice versa You can tell Mexicans are very powerful in LA when they want Mexicans safe in Black neighborhoods, but don’t care if Blacks are safe in Mexican neighborhoods. Everybody needs to get of that KKK sht. It’s crazy to hurt someone because of ethnicity or skin color.

I think where confusion lies is that chicanos use to have their own culture. It still exists in California but not as prevalent as it once was. Now the culture throughout the U.S. is hip hop culture. Which you can easily argue was predominantly created by black culture. In the late 80s and 90s black gangs took a lot of style from the Chicano culture.

@@bigal3619 the Chicano style was around since the 30s. Blacks were not dressing that way. The dickies, Ben Davis, flannels, Charlie Brown shirts etc. Even in the early 80s was not really dressing like that. More like NWA with tight jeans t-shirt. When 90s hit, that was a big style with creased pants, flannels etc. Mexican gangs go back to the 30s and always been a style. Many black rappers on west coast contributed style to Mexican culture. Lowrider were done by Pachucos in late 30s. They would put sand bags in trunk to lower stance of cars. The surenos and nortenos in the 60s started differentiate themselves in prison by blue and red. As the prisons use to issue blue and red bandanas. Culture has always been intertwined in California.
