Wow, whoever filmed (and did post-production/color-grading) those underground garage shots deserves appreciation! a lot of really difficult scenes, with poor lighting and with super bright light coming from the saber, and yet he keeps it exposed correctly and focused all the time!! nice job! ;-)

I was 6 and floored when I saw it in the theaters. It is cool to see this generation in love with it like we were. They won't have the experience of seeing something that was shocking to us when we were younger, but it still is cool they appreciate it.

Ahh, a few of us from the Old Republic days, i see! I was 11 when Star Wars dropped outta Hyperspace! Wow..talk about a paradigm shift in film making! Lucas..Dykstra, et al .. just amazing. This saber looks so amazing, from the hilt to the blade it is absolutely beautifully built. I get reminded of how Hacksmith Industries have made the world's first wireless lightsaber pike that cuts and are currently working on making a wireless single bladed saber, their original saber being a proto-saber complete with battery pack.
@chalion8399 Жыл бұрын
You can get the switch alignment done if you purchase rubber o-rings or thin metal ring shims/spacers. Or, if you don't mind to alter the end of the hilt, have it sanded down until the buttons line up. This 2nd way to me is better, because you won't have parts to lose if you dual wield the hilts. I haven't purchased from Imperial Workshop yet, but the prices on the Retribution Hilt xenopixel look very good.

I need to revisit Imperial Workshop. I'm already a proud owner of their Revenant (after watching your review of the company a year or so ago). Yet, the Dauntless has everything I'm after: a clean, smooth, timeless look, for spinning, etc, a deep blade insert, and the ability to go single, dual, or staff (something I'd like to learn in the near future). Great review. Keep up the good work.

Hey, great vid on these. I love the way you use them. Smooth, fast and flashy, yet still elegant. As a former chinese martial arts practitioner (and a childhood fan of Star Wars) I've always dreamed about getting a lightsaber but was almost always repelled by how unpractical all the handles looked due to being faithful to their movies props designs. Also, of the few that I've tried, none of them felt balanced like an actual weapon to feel comfortable to practice with daily. These lightsabers that you're showing here look like the first ones I've seen so far that adress all my previous grievances. A simple design without flashy bumpy stuff that's comfy in the hands, and given how you seem to be effortlessly spinning them and tossing them around, it looks like they're also well-balanced ! I'd love to get my hands on it someday and try them out ! Thanks for the discovery.

Amazing job of spinning and moving with the saber. It just dawned on me -- without the added weight of the blades it would be much tougher to spin just the hilts if they were like real light sabers as light doesn't weigh anything. I guess it's a good thing they need the blades in order to make them actually work.

I practice Filipino martial arts, or Kali. It's a martial art that is mostly weapons training which includes the use of rattan sticks as training tools for edged weapons like the Philippine bolo (short sword/machete). Kali's been used in the 1 2 3 films for the duels, and I can see you doing some patterns and movements that come from the 2nd area of Kali, doble baston, or double stick/sword. Like the weapon chambering on the side of your body and over your shoulder, or the redondo sinawali pattern you did at the end. I'm not sure if you realize that haha. You should check it out, you'd be good at it since you're very coordinated
