@@ahsokatanosloveinterest 1. 2 points if it dies, 2. harder to get EX and if you're using mewto why not just build a deck for him, this deck is focused on dragonite 3. when its low and sitting on the bench, its prone to sabrina, bench hitters like zebstrika etc. giving 2pts when it dies. 4. disservice to an EX card to just tank lol. (just me tho)

it's good but you get oneshot by Pikachu EX and sometimes that extra turn might be crucial. Also in fast games you don't have the time to charge your Articuno, especially if you don't draw Misty or you get tails

@AlfredKamon only Pika w/Gio and if you don't get Misty it's just a wall similar to this Mewtwo. If you do get Misty it can out perform the actual Dragonite

I saw your lance team Dragonite deck and got inspired to make one of my own since I'm loving D-nite so much, I'm doing really well with it and I'm suffering to make my awesome full art gyarados be anything other than useless lmao. I don't have regular zapdos, so i had an idea to put 2 Dragonites, 1 gyarados (only have 1), 1 lapras and an Electrode. its not so fragile, hits really hard and had 0 retreat cost which could be great for pivoting. It hasn't been tjat good but I'll keep trying to make it work. I could also change gyarados for another electrode (once i get a second stupid voltorb). I also really love the idea of it cuz every time i remember Lance, i think of the electrodes at the Team Rocket secret lake base!

My arguments. Zapdos (maybe atri, not sure the retreat) your only losing 20 health for the ability to attack, if needed. As well that 20 doesn't change any two hit or three hit thresholds. Lapras ex (or vaporeon) Can also attack, self heal, misty

Actually 2 regular Articuno plus 2 Misty, 1 Kangaskhan and 1 Porygon seems is the way to go for me. I have a second win con on Articuno, and the Porygon is a permanent Pokedex in the bench. Cheers!

On the subject of bait cards to put out there while Dnite is powering up-might Laparas be worthwhile to try out? Basic Pokemon, 100hp, 2 retreat cost, can deal SOME damage with just 1 water energy.

the reason i stay away from lapras for the baby birds is becasue of the electric type weakness and pikachu meta being so dominate atm. i mean weezing and arbok suck but thats still less damage than a fulyl charged up pika

@@XatumiI’ve been using zebstrika to poke the back line stage Pokemon to try and disrupt/soften as much as possible it’s obviously not as tanky, but 1 energy investment for potentially knocking out key targets seems like a good trade off. It meant dropping red card Pokédex and 2x baby mew2s but it’s had some serious success even into pikachu

Might kangaskan be better than baby mewtwo? Although his retreatment cost is higher by one and has 20 hp less than mewtwo, he can press the enemy active pokemon from the start with only one energy required

So i run this same thing with double ex zap 10 higher hp it does 20 chip and can retreat for only 1 electric which you play anyway in dnight deck (obviously the main drawback is you lose two points when it gets ko)

You do want to be able to retreat eventually if it doesn't die. By the time you get dragonite up and manage to retreat Snorlax they can build a full sweeper and if dragonite doesn't ko it on the first Draco you're done. I don't subscribe to the whole wall philosophy. You should be doing damage while building dragonite so that they are weakened or you have a point or two for dragonite to finish off.
