Dragonite is so fun bc it almost always comes down to chance, both decks do their thing and you don’t know if you’re winning until the end 😂

The perfect fix for the initial coin flip is that the player who plays first can use an energy but cant attack. This way the winner of the coinflip gets the energy advantage while the second player can get damage advantage

Not really cause then first would be better since you'd have 2 energy on Turn 3.. Then Pikachu and Starmie and such can just one shot your Basic or deal tons of dmg

No need to fix the game mechanic just because of the cards available right now. There are just more pokemon who prefer going second but there's also pokemon who prefer going first like rapidash or Weezing.

Eventually they'll add new cards, and with that more powerful Evolutions, specifically Stage 2 Evo. Right now Weezing, Exeguttor, Zebstrika, and Rapidash are very good at going First, since they can immediately evolve and attack for 1 Energy. Other than this, they can still add more items/supporters that have specific effects. For example a card that is quite powerful but can only be played on turn 1, otherwise the effect is half, or maybe cards that lets you generate some energy, or search for a specific evolution line.. Anyway what I'm saying, they can make new cards that benefits from going Turn 1, rather than change the energy system altogether

You spend 3 energy on articuno that could’ve been spent on dragonite. Just with the hopes of MAYBE paralyzing them. Dragonite will take too long to get going. You’re better off using Zebstrika for only one lightning energy to start hitting the opponent’s valuable Pokémon in preparation for Dragonite and using lapras as a one energy meat shield.

Misty shuld work like Moltres EX's Inferno dance even if we sacrifice her ability to coin 6 energies. It will be much better card.

how hearthstone balanced going second was giving you a temporary energy you could use on a turn of your choosing, along with starting with one more card than your opponent. I could see this working for some decks but ineffective to others

@ good luck! It’s slow but gives you options. I played through the 45 wins for the emblem and it was fun. Mewtwo still sucks but you have options. Vaporeon just a better Lapras since you won’t lose two points when it dies and it’s very chonky.

Run an extra Jolteon it only needs one electric energy and you would rather get that card out early it’s low hp plus gets rid of the busted water EX cards

Nice deck! I've been having fun with Dragonite; love the chance aspect of it too haha! One strat ive found to be really interesting is running it alongside greninja, where you can use water shuriken to whittle Pokemon down into meteor range when they'd otherwise take an extra turn to go down. It can be pretty effective; just takes a bit to set up

Regular lapras only needs one water energy and with a lucky misty you get attack to 90 with 4 energy on it. 100 hp is good if it leads, just a suggestion

I have a perfect suggestion for fixing the coin flip, let the player that flips heads CHOOSE if they go first or second, therefore you actually get an advantage for winning the coin flip.

Yes, and able to stall longer if you manage to paralyze. That saved me first game.
