I loved this video! I’m quitting my full time job next month (that I’ve been at nearly 20 yrs) to go full time with reselling. This has been a dream of mine since I started reselling back in 2020! We are having a new house built and I’ll have my own poshmark room/office! I’ve never been more excited! 🎉

Hope you don't need money. You probably will make 0 first 2 years and minimum wage the next two. I say this as someone who makes 70k profit a year reselling. So like 10x what she makes.. and if you live rural you will never find enough good inventory so you will have to move to a big city. She made this video for profit because reselling is so hard many do better talking about it on youtube than scaling a resell business into a high income. Thats being said good luck, in 2005 this video would be fine but its so competetive now i consider this video toxic and dishonest.. i like her other videos though.

@@cekz5199 I’ve been doing reselling for 4 yrs and only doing it part time I make nearly half of my medical field job, so I feel pretty confident in quitting. Plus I don’t technically need to work at all due to my husband’s income, but reselling is a passion so I’m sticking with it, so I have all the time to scale it! My husband & I are having a new house built so that I can grow it though! Really looking forward to it! We actually do live in a rural area but I don’t thrift for most of my inventory, I have other ways of getting it! It’s been working out surprisingly well.

I am in a similar boat... Get ready for work & grind if you rely on this as actual income. Becky is an amazing resource. Watch her recent video of "Everything you need.." & research w many experts. Take notes on everything!! (it can be overwhelming) But take a deep breath, build in breaks, dont rely on this as your real income while you learn. If you can, learn & invest all you can. DEFINITELY watch YT on setting up all the supplies & space you will eventually need in your new dedicated room (CONGRATS!! Jelly! My room is 10'x12' & I need double that to succeed.) BUT ITS ALL A PROGRESSION. We newbies have to remember that! deep breaths!! (& a LOT of research!) Becky is a killer start 😊😊😊

I know exactly how you feel. I would have never guessed I would be reselling and wishing I had done it longer. I love it. I started in 2021 and I was buying all sorts of stuff. Too much and too many categories. I know that works for some people but not for me. I am now focused on selling off all my inventory that is old and focusing on my niche areas. Mainly vintage Barbie clothes, postcards and vintage costume jewelry. By focusing on what I know and love my returns are low, my store is healthy and my feedback is on track. It’s the best job really.

YES. We are tricked into thinking we have to sell ALL THE THINGS, but I think that causes burnout faster than anything. Stick with what you know, and if you truly have the capacity and desire to learn more, do it. But not at the beginning!

@@beckyparkco right! I think it does work for people who are full time but us part timers don’t have the time to research all the stuff! So to avoid a lot of returns and frustration and keep a healthy EBay store I think niche down for part timers is best. IMHO.

I felt like I failed at my business the first year because I didn’t sell all my inventory but once you think about it a brick & mortar store doesn’t sell all of their items either they still have inventory left over at the end of the year unless their going out of business then they’ll give deep discounts to sell everything so I gotta not be so hard on myself. Everything is a learning curve. Thanks for this video. Love reselling. It’s freedom 😊 from a 9-5 job. Love being my own boss. That right there is all I need to be happy with my business. No boss over your head telling you what to do & no finding someone to work your shift when you want a day off. I just quit my full time healthcare job. Now I can focus on my reselling business. Great advice on this video!

I have a neighbor/friend that tried reselling. Honestly- she looks and sounds a lot like you, coincidentally! Very smart young woman! Anyways- she bought all the supplies and made an effort to find stuff to list. Not sure how long she was reselling. And then she let me know she was moving, to live closer to where her kids go to school. The day before she moved she knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted all her shipping supplies and her scale. She said that reselling was way too hard and not what she expected. And so she quit reselling. It definitely isn’t for everybody. Any time you buy something to resell, there is the chance it won’t sell and you just wasted your time and money. Reselling is a skill. There is a lot to learn if you want to make money reselling and not lose money. And in my opinion, time is money. Gaining knowledge about selling platforms. Figuring out what to sell, and maybe finding a niche…. all takes time. I do think it can be a great side hustle for the right person!
@beckyparkco
@beckyparkco 3 ай бұрын
For sure. My sister-in-law started - didn't go the route of buying all the supplies and stuff, but just started selling her clothes, her husband's clothes, etc. She hated it so much hahaha. It definitely isn't for everyone, especially for those who aren't self-motivated. Some people need a boss and someone to tell them what's expected of them, when to clock in and out, etc. And some people just don't get the high from making a sale. You're right - it's not for everyone.

Reselling today to replace an avg income say 50k profit is brutally hard with competition, caylee is exceptional at what she does 99% will only make side money and need a job its really hurtful to leave that out with so many viewers watching. This video is the exact thing resellers point to as false advertising going on in social media. Please dont omit the important context and qualifiers.

For sure-it’s not for everyone, and just like with other careers, it’s not something everyone is going to stick with forever. I think it’s a great, low cost way to try working for yourself. Some people find they love it; some hate it. At least you didn’t throw a ton of money down the drain realizing that you actually need to be in a much more structured setting.

Becky Park Im new to reselling...i got my start by selling some stuff I had accumulated and it went well so I decided to sell clothes full time but I live in a small town where it's very hard to source inventory cheap but I met a lady from a Facebook ad selling clothes anyways she buys storage units ...she sold me some clothes really cheap but said she is always getting clothes from the storage units she buys and really can't get rid of them to the point it's becoming a problem so I got the idea to post my information inside the abundance of storage units in my town that I will buy the clothes by the pound from the storage unit buyers to see how it goes...I'm offering the unit buyers a way to get rid of the unwanted clothes and may be a way to source inventory for cheap... what's your thoughts on this?
@beckyparkco
@beckyparkco 3 ай бұрын
Hmmm I don’t think this is a terrible idea, but would you buy the clothes sight unseen? That could be a problem. You could end up with a lot of junk that just won’t sell while also getting extremely overwhelmed. Personally, I think it’s smarter to drive an hour or two to get to a good sourcing spot and train your sourcing muscles so you can also make sure this is something you really want to do before filling your house with clothes from storage units. It might be fun to do once a month or something though!

If you sell on Poshmark, for example, you can use any priority mail, flat rate, or regional shipping supplies from usps.
