The moment is majestic. I keep rewatching that part over and over again. The one time the T-800 was swift, rigorous and clinical in its tactical movements against the T-1000. That score is well utterly unmissable.
@BLZ2318 ай бұрын
A nice touch is that the T800 doesn’t get mad when the car swerves and causes him to miss, nor when the truck crashes into them and causes him to drop his ammo. A human would likely get annoyed and might take out their frustration on their companions, but the T800 barely reacts and just calmly moves on to the next logical course of action. It really helps sell the fact that it’s a machine despite its human appearance. It’s a small detail, but this film is full of small details like this. It’s a shame I didn’t see this film until last year, because it is phenomenal.

Two different guns. The police station AR was a full auto M16A1. The rifle the first T800 used in that same assault was a modified full auto AR180. This is a CAR15 with a legal 14” barrel and an old moderator device taken from the SWAT van.

I've always loved the subtleness of this scene; how it reveals that despite the T-800 becoming more human, it's still only a machine, and cannot detach itself from the earlier instruction to "Keep it under 65, we don't want to be pulled over"! Genius.

I assumed that the T800 couldn’t drive faster because the truck’s max speed is governed at 55mph
@SpielSatzFail8 ай бұрын
No, no, no. The "keep it under 65" came from Sarah so it wasn't an order the T-800 had to follow implicitly. Plus the T-800 was actually able to break free from taking orders, just remember John's "I order you not to go".
@highwayxj93978 ай бұрын
T800 listens to John. John said step on it. He is not following the previous instruction of keeping it under 65. This is an 82 S10 4 cylinder automatic. You would be lucky to get it up to 75 accelerating down hill

1:35 What I love so much about this scene is that even a Terminator can think "Okay, f this, i'm sick of this guy." and just go full badass and walk across and unload into the T-1000. If you watch his feet movements as he moves to the 2nd truck it's honestly frightening to think that a machine can move so fluidly like that.
