General first tips regarding penny's pursuit; the perks will rotate in between each different penny's pursuit. The best perk really depends on what plants you bring, so for simplicity, I will leave it up to you upon deciding the best ones. Since you are using level 1 perks anyways, I don't think it usually matters too much. Try out different ones and have fun! The third level was around a type of plant you haven't used called power mints. Each mint family has a power mint, which has a special ability and buffs plants in their family. The level design for that specific level was all about utilizing the special abilities of the mints you got. You get these power mints in arena. Currently, spear-mint is featured in the area, and I would recommend you try and unlock it. It takes 100 'mints' to unlock, which can be obtained from playing arena or doing the arena-based quests. I will recommend that for levels where you can choose what plants to bring, I would bring imp pear. It's a very good plant both in penny's pursuit and arena. It costs 0 sun and can be spammed down pretty fast with a

Matt the level at 10:18 uses power-mints, you unlock them by playing in the arena. All power-mints work the same way: they cost 0 sun and have an instant ability when you place them down, and then while they are on the field (for a limited time) they buff plants of their family. For example the second mint that you got and used at 10:25 was the enchant-mint, and when you place it down it hypnotises a few zombies. The zoybean pod is part of the enchant-mint family, so it got buffed by the enchant mint, you can see that when the enchant-mint is on the field the zombies from the zoybean pods get helmets. Power-mints are really good because of how powerful they are despiting costing 0 sun, I especially love using the bombard-mint (the one that went "cha-boom") because it's like putting down 3 cherry bombs and then it buffs the bombard-mint family plants

Those plants you were questioning are mints. You can earn them and level them up by playing against over players. I don't remember what it's called. It's been a while. Bombardmint is my favorite one cause it usually clears out hoards of zombies at a time. What these mints do is temporarily power up all the plants matching their class. Some mints do something extra too.

Matt here's a OP tip so basically what you need is escape root and do the steps 1:Plant him 2:wait for a zombie 3:swap him with a empty tile right when he turns to other plant then boom an invincible plant he can never die like an op version of wallnut

I have some tips, so the mints, are power mints (each plant family has their own mints, like the cherry bomb and bombegrenate and similar explosive plants have the exploding mint and such), for the zomboss, from what i know, cactus isnt really a great offensive plant, I'd reccomend using plants such as Bowling bulb which is one of the best ones for it due to it always hitting zombies and bouncing, this week's pennies pursuit is HEATH SEEKER, which is in my opinion a better plant than grapeshot, so you could try to go for it (also i could give you my save file if you are interested in it, it has alot of plants that are leveled (but not some like the grapeshot and such because me no spend money (except on the good ones)

Don't take my advice I don't know if its optimal but bowling bulbs with tile turnips absolutely shred zomboss especially when there's a bunch of zombies for the bulbs to bounce off of

If you ever wanna do penny's pursuit again try to upgrade your bowling bulb it's one of the best plants for penny's pursuit once you upgrade it a bit

Tip for matt: Pea vine, plus plant food torch wood, and appease mint. Can 2 shot a gargantuar It is really good (ps. You dont need to plant food torch wood but it will take longer to kill gargantuar)

I think Matt missed the joke. The guy with the snake was supposed to be Hippocrates. A Greek physician known for the discovery of medicine as well as having the Hippocratic oath named after him. Matt I know you streamed you beating the end of modern times. But my mom really loves to watch your vids and cant sit for a whole stream. If there is anyway you could make a video of you beating the final few levels. Even just clipping it into shorts that would be so amazing. These are mints every plant has a different category for example spear mint slow but stalls zombies enchant mint turns zombies against them and other magic stuff and lastly bombard mint is all explode type of plants like cherry bomb and other ones
