Wow I love playing a Strategy Game and having half of the strategy removed, I recently finished all co-op and solo half cash medals and the first time I played ABR after that felt like I had so many options, like the game was finally fun and less repetitive

Great guide learnt a lot A real good thing about half cash is teaching you cheap ways to beat the early to mid game, and that knowledge carries over to other modes including chimps and bosses

This video has come in for the rescue, I always have more trouble in half cash even with 200+ hours in BTD6 so far, recently decided to black border an expert map (sadly chose #ouch) and its been extremely difficult so far, havent gotten past round 40 yet. Hopefully with a bit more planning + this video it will go better!

I feel like one of the things about this mode in particular is that if you don't want to cheese it with powers and insta-monkeys, it funnels you into a particular playstyle that's probably universally hated. For me, anyway, I love Bloons for it's sandbox. The fact I can tackle any map with any tower leads to a game with so much freedom. Even CHIMPs on most maps keeps that level freedom. But then you have half cash where if you don't play the most efficient game of your life, you lose. There's not a ton of freedom and variety. I also have a habit of restarting when I leak. Habits from CHIMPs, I guess. Idk.

this was good! I like the general tips without being spoonfed specific strats for maps - it helps out without taking away the fun of learning things for yourself :) and yeah, double cash / powers / instas trivialise it but I find it most fun to play btd6 without that stuff.

the top path mermonkey is VERY good for big clusters of bloons. not only does it have amazing pierce itself, but it increases the pierce of other nearby towers for quite a cheap price

Yeah but the pierce increase is pretty much non existent for most towers because it’s a multiplicative buff so even for example a monkey with 9 pierce the 3-0-0 mermonkey does nothing. The 4-0-0 mermonkey offers a 15% pierce increase but from that point you’ve already spent a lot just for a small pierce buff.

In a way half cash is anti-power creep, since you have less money so you have to rely on skill (or powers and continues). But in another way you rely on power creep because the most overpowered towers will be the best solutions. Which is why I always rely on beast handlers for my half cash runs.

I have this strat which relies on ace monkey for rounds 40+ and Moab damage. First, I use Sauda because she has amazing damage for early game. Then I get a 3-0-2 boomer for dense rounds. For round 40, I get a 3-2-0 ace (later upgraded to 4-2-0) For the main dps I get a 2-0-3 ace And lastly for rounds 63, 76 and 78 I upgrade the boomer to 4-0-2 and a get a r cluster Add support for ease of game This should work on beginner and intermediate maps

Half cash is definitely worse than chimps. At least in chimps there's a lot of strategies you can use. In half cash you're VERY restricted to very similar builds every time. It's basically always Ninja+Alch+Boats because it's the cheap way of getting camo+lead. It's sad that even in "Military/Magic Only" challenges you have more build variety and fun strategies than in Half Cash. It may not be actually harder than Chimps, but it's significantly more boring, and that makes it worse. Just like how Apopalypse is the second-worst, because it starts boring, gets frustrated with randomly surging into camo leads, then it's over just as it's getting fun with MOABs. (Though it's much better now you get end of round cash)

Bruh half cash is easier than chimps because in half cash, you can use double cash, insta, power, and retrying cost monkey money but it reward a bonus cash, meanwhile in chimps if you setup fail at a certain round such as 95,98,99,... then let hope you save some money to buy something or the run will be over and you have to start again

im still a bit of a btd6 noob but i black bordered workshop... chimps took me a day and maybe a little longer to beat but i could feel myself making progress with it. half cash i just finished but to be honest i cheesed it with continues and instas at a certain point - i felt like i couldnt get past the 50s after getting owned for hours and hours. maybe i needed to go a different hero (sauda is a pretty good hero for workshop though i think? im comfy with her. maybe i should have used ben or something else though, im not familiar with all the heros yet). but half cash felt harder than chimps on this map. the fact you dont get free continues makes it much less forgiving too - when you fail on chimps at least you can figure out what went wrong and workshop (heh) different ideas and see what you need to break through without spending your monkey money. maybe workshop is a bit unique (2 moabs are way harder to deal with than 1 - a single one you can cheese with a moab shove, a moab eliminator, or even a fighter plane with track extensions, but all these methods are so bad against 2 you need to basically buy a second moab defense... and its such a short map on the moab lane you have really limited options... i'd love to see how someone pro beats workshop half cash ngl edit: i watched a workshop half cash guide and what i learned from it I think would be a good addition to the tips - once you get your hero, try and see how far you can get without spending any more money (if you can). it's really helpful to identify what bottlenecks you actually need to be focusing on (one of the big things I was doing wrong with my half cash workshop attempts was trying to set up a glaive ricochet alongside sauda - and for a while I was also going for a 032 engi as well - when it seems like sauda on her own can kinda handle everything (or at least most things) up until you come against the moab on round 40. if i tried that i would have seen the cash I have to play with there and probably been able to make progress towards a solution)

nah no powers/p2w is harder still almost everytime an expert map comes out people beat chimps on it before we solve f2p half cash. thank you for this guide I perfer blueprints for strats not the whole solution at most I will googlet he first 6 rounds of a map but half cash doesn't really have those recourses. like other than this I think the only other half cash guide was made by SJB no offense but he doesn't do what you do.

Today I was beating dreadbloon with subs and mermonkeys which is not an any good combo but it is like a challenge. I died to camo because my sub was broken and didn't attacked at all even so there was a ninja. This bug is so strange. In early game the sub triggered on bloons that was seen by farms and also when you change targeting it starts working for a bit. It's the most buggy update I played on.

as far as im concerned, the secret to half cash is just geraldo his items are so strong at all stages of the game if you geraldo buff a 130 druid it will solo 40 rounds alone pickled 130 does extra damage over time with the vines which can do enough damage for 39 rounds even on multilane maps if you get a little support if you have the druid with fire and pickles you can just maelstrom the moab to kill it then i usually go for a 203 ace with alch buff and more geraldo items and pretty much just spamming more aces and geraldo items until the game is over works on many many maps

Half Cash exists solely for people to use the insta monkeys lol. Pretty much anything with 3 levels on it turn 1 will be enough to cover you with even awful strategy

Good video but I still think it's a boring way to make the game harder so I skip them, it's like games that the hard mode is just that enemies have more. HP and you take more damage instead of changing the enemies themselves. They should replace it with a mode where the bloons are different or your monkeys have some debuffs or something more interesting. I just use a strong tier 4 monkey from the start and get it over with lol.

Never thought I’d hear “half cash is monkey knowledge dependent”. Honestly I feel most people forget powers exist when playing half cash, I just use 1 or 2 insta monkeys to get me started and the rest is ok-ish. Oh and if you are more of a money man you can buy double cash to complete negate its gimmick. I despise the mode as much as the next guy but I understand it’s not as hard as people make it out to be.
