I think the creators told the Boss' VA that they will call him at some point and didn't specify what for. So that bit was complete improv for the Boss' VA.

From what I've heard, the boss' VA was told ahead of time that they would actually call him up but didn't tell him what they would call him about, just that it would be for voice acting, so the way he responded in that phone call was real.

The first 8 episodes were all released in one night, and took the internet by storm. Then literal silence for months, until this episode was advertised. Everyone was hyped up, and then we all saw... this... It was beautiful. Edit: I was wrong. Apparently it was advertised minutes before it was released.

I think the cherry on top was that the Boss, the single handed zaniest character on the show sounded the most realistic and calm during that incredibly accurate phone call.

Apparently the voice actor for the Boss was actually called, and he had no linea for this, he was just told he would be called, and that it would be for vocie acting something, so that right there was as real as possible, it was literally just done on the spot

The thing in the background was a plane nose diving towards the mountain. To my knowledge, In the event of a crash airports ground/redirect all flights. So their flight back home might be "slightly" delayed.

The thing is I could totally see Pim's thought process when seeing the link on messenger. Like I wouldn't thought they were showing the hotel they booked for the trip and not "book this hotel." But still Pim shouldn't have been the one in charge of both the plane and hotel bookings. I'm just surprised none of them touched base with Pim before going if they all thought he was booking both.

I always felt bad for Pim on this one. They expected him to book literally everything and then got mad when something fell through. Like, even if Pim agreed to do that, it'd be more responsible to spread the jobs around or at least ask him a few times before the trip if he got everything handled.

this is actually a standalone episode that came out inbetween seasons they had like an ironic hype video about it and some people took it super seriouslly and when it released there were people who thought this was the funniest sht ever qnd some people who just didnt get it i think its q great episode because it encapsulates what so much of smiling friends is about its these colorful critters that do get up to wacky misadventures but every couple seconds you get a punch of realism in your face what with characters realistically arguing and such

Charlie's voice actor had said that His favorite part of the show is that all these characters look fantastical but have the most normal conversations. Like, you got alien looking people talking about having anti-anxiety medication and heart problems.

I remember watching it when it came out on April 1st. At first, I was surprised they even had an episode, because a previous year, they did not show most of their lineup. It was just the same episode of Rick and Morty, over and over. Also, when I heard the part about The Smiling Friends going to Brazil, I thought the joke of the episode was going to be them having trouble GETTING there in the first place.

Fun Fact: Them calling the boss, he doesn’t do his goody boss voice because it was an actual random call to the VA. He was told ahead of time they were gonna call him to do a bit in the show but not tell him when they’d call. That’s why he sounds normal and you notice when the VA understands that THIS is the bit they were gonna do once he hears them in character.

Nah fuck pim, booking flights and a hotel isn't that big of a deal, if that's too much then you should never move out of your parents house.
