This is a video I have been wanting to make since season 2 but I wanted to have more material to work on.
Well this season gave me all the material I wanted.
It’s basically two videos in one as the first part focuses on the big three childhood, Jack & Rebecca story, the fire & how it impacted their lives.
The second part focuses on Kevin building Jack’s dream house, the legacy Jack’s left on his wife & kids and Rebecca’s different relationships with Kevin, Kate & Randall. It’s beautiful to see how much her relationship with Kevin & Kate grew this season.
Regarding Kevin & Randall, they wanted to hurt each other. They did. Now I do believe they love each other and hopefully their relationship can grow from this.

When you really think about it Jack and Rebecca were by no means perfect, but they built something together that was truly beautiful. They managed to raise three flawed, yet great people and in doing so they built a family that loved like no other. I mean not only was their own love story great, but it lead to an incredible love that lasted generations. Truly remarkable.

I agree, but wish to add that a lot of the flaws were created by the grief of losing Jack. That’s when their weaknesses were magnified (Kevin’s drinking, Kate’s weight gain, Randall’s depression.). The rest of the series seems to be about coping, floundering, navigating shaky relationships, and in building new strengths, and finding love and bittersweet peace.

Rebecca wanted to build a home filled with kindness and openness, Jack wanted to build a home that feels safe especially opposite to the home he grew up in, Randall always wanted to build a home like his parents built for him with a loving family, Kate wanted to build a home with a man that resembled her superhero dad and Kevin literally built a home for all of them in respect and memory of his parents' dream.

No doubt, it was the the most wonderful and heart warming show portraying the story of the best family that ever existed! And it really aches my heart to say goodbye to this show cause yes, I've already fallen in love w these characters and this show always felt like home. Just remember it's about the love. The Pearsons aren't so perfect. Jack was the son of an alcoholic. Jack was an alcoholic. He saw war. He was sergeant in war and came back with PTSD. He watched his brother lose hope. He watched his father abuse his mother. His father abused him too. He grew up poor, and Kevin also struggled with addiction. His dad died while they were fighting. He was overlooked in childhood. Randall felt too seen as a child. He was bullied by his brother growing up. He felt the absence of his birth parents. He lost his dad soon after meeting him to cancer. He was always so riddled with anxiety. Kate has struggled with an ED most of her life. She felt inadequate next to her mother, who was always right there. She was in an abusive relationship. She had to have an abortion, alone. She blamed herself for her father's death. Rebecca was always right there, pushing down her own grief. She lost a child. She lost her husband. They're all living without someone so important that sometimes they don't know if they can live without him at all. Kevin and Randall have said things to each other that you would think are unforgivable, but love heals.. Jack relapsed in his addiction and almost lost his family for it, but love conquers. It was love that brought Jack back. It was his love for Rebecca and her love for him. Don't forget it's about the love. Don't forget it's out there. It's human.

Gosh the ending of this show hit me like a bus. My Grandma had just passed from covid and all of her grandkids and her daughters hung out in her hospital room her last two days. We'd all be catching up with each other and reality would hit between natural pauses in our conversations and we'd hear our grandma's breaths in the background. Kept seeing her heart go in and out of AFib on the monitor. Everyone had already taken their time to tell her goodbye. I was the last grandchild to say their goodbyes. Then her heart went into AFib and never recovered. She passed a few hours after that. Idk if I'll ever be able to watch this show again. Seriously the best show that's been around in many years.

I have this really crazy theory but it makes a lot of sense. So if you remember we see the flash forward with old Randell entering Rebecca’s room where she’s on her death bed in EPISODE 18 of Season 3, the finale. And then you see in the flash forward again, that old Kevin entering Rebecca’s room where she is in her death bed in EPISODE 18 of Season 4, the finale. Now we all know how This Is Us likes to keep us on our edge of the seat with the absolute crazy arcs they draw. So, I believe that maybe Kate lives, but is probably divorced. She would enter the room in the finale episode, that is EPISODE 18 of Season 5. And what’s even more crazy would be - that - we all know that THIS IS US would end with Season 6. So, maybe - in the finale episode, that is Episode 18 of Season 6 - every single person of the family - The Big Three, their partners and their kids would all be present beside Rebecca who would finally pass away then - brining us to a very emotional but a very satisfying end. God, I am already crying right now. Literally. Where’s the tissue!

What a truly remarkable show! I have never fallen in love with a tv show like I have with This is Us! The cast is absolutely wonderful, the writing is something I could never imagine ! I love the characters and the actors! Mandy Moore was right in point with the Alzheimer’s diagnosis. My mom passed from this horrible disease. As much as it made me sad watching , I’m grateful for the writing - so people can see how it really happens! Just love this show - best tv show ever - I will miss the Pearsons - thank you for this incredible journey ❤️
