I know that this Jam called Chile gave birth to the Voodoo Child we all know, but, is there anything more than that ?
@ItsRevival4 жыл бұрын
The Slight Return single was released as Voodoo Chile in the UK I think, so it might have stemmed from that
@edphillips85784 жыл бұрын
Jimi had recorded a late night jam at the Electric Lady during the Electric Ladyland album sessions, this became what is correctly known as Voodoo Chile, which is 15 minutes long. The next day a film crew which were doing a documentary in the studio had listen to the Voodoo Chile recordings and had really liked the song, but wanted it much shorter for the documentary, so Hendrix tried to recapture the song again, just a whole lot shorter, this then became the song Voodoo Child (Slight Return) which is 5 minutes 12 seconds. Voodoo Child (Slight Return) was released as a single from the Electric Ladyland album and went to number one just after Jimi's death. It's Jimi Hendrix's only song that has charted at number one in the UK singles chart to date.
