I remember his Grand Prix, that thing was a beast. But this is more impressive because he's getting 150 on half the power. Not to mention, the trunk is not open to get that score. I think what's happening here is a few things.... Placing the box all the way back and to one side is preventing any front pressure waves from canceling out with the rear waves. Second, airflow from the side port is also preventing cancellation by pushing any "would be" front waves back forward. That's why when you open the trunk bass gets louder, because it's allowing the rear waves to escape. Third, the trunk itself is acting like a series 6th order bandpass box, giving it a boost, if you think about it. The large front opening is the main port and that side port is the rear tuning port. Everything is designed to go one way and prevent any pressure waves of getting "behind" the box. It's the equivalent of sealing off the trunk, without the hassles of messy foam everywhere. This box design and placement is definitely the direction I want to go with my next trunk build. Job well done Nathan.

Very similar to my build now 2021 Kia k5 2 zv5 12’s my box is a little bigger 5.25 cubes also 8in aeroport I need more power however I’m currently on a single xtr 2500 @ .5 ohm sick build bro U series is super efficient 💪💪

It’s in a 4.45 slot port but it’s tuned at 32 and it doesn’t hit the lows as clean as I would like so I’m hoping to get another flat pack from gpcaraudio here in a couple weeks and I’m getting it tuned at 29 hertz instead and hopefully my xv3 does better in it.

I have an IA40.1 for sale, needs some repairs but it’s definitely worth getting fixed. It’s an old school amp from incriminator audio, use to retail for almost 2 grand and still has kept its value so it’s definitely an old school gem. I don’t have time or money to fix or else I would invest into fixing .

Them U's don't mess around! I had 4 SA15'S on two skar sk3500.1's strapped and did a 153.7db daily on music then when I upgraded to Xv2 15's yeah it moved more air and "felt" louder but the meter don't lie and believe it or not my SA's were louder so basically if you took an SA top and dropped it onto an X motor then you get the extreme power handling of the X's with the performance of the SA's so I still want to try 4 U15's in my old box/setup to see how they do

Depends on box/port placement, goals, and tuning. Trial/error yourself all options as varies by vehicle too. I would do sub/port sealed at trunk wall

By switching them towards the cabin you'll lose a little spl but may gain a tiny bit better sound quality.

Yes and do it like he did. Trunk cars have different sound acoustics than a SUV or a hatchback. The trunk itself acts like a secondary box. Nathan's set up eliminates the common cancellation issues when you point subs forward. The way he did it was push the box all the way back to one side. The side port pushes all the airflow back forward so nothing can get behind the box. Otherwise as Jacob mentioned seal off the trunk completely if you want subs forward. But that is more work and time-consuming to do it properly. Trust me I know, I have a 4th order pass-through my center armrest. I had to seal up every nook and cranny. Not fun at all but the results are well worth it, as you get all the bass in the interior and hardly any in the trunk.

I recall those subs are rated 5-6k rms? I would suggest an 8k per sub if that’s the case for some head room. Usually good to run 120%+ power vs. rms rating it compensate for larger box.

The reason they pick these awful songs is because they have the most base and can show you what it will do. I have the exact same set up in my vehicle as a lady I still drive with it at full blast but usually it's ACDC but it could be anything the point is it sounds unbelievable imagine how good your favorite song sounds on some shit like that. I promise it's worth every dollar if you're willing to put it out
