This house would be more affordable yes.... but once you have a bed in those bedrooms not much space left. I DO STILL PREFER TO SEE THE NEW FURNISHED, LUXURY HOMES... HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVE!! ... BUT ONLY UK LUXURY HOUSES....

I guess tiny, carpeted bathrooms are standard in cheaper UK houses. But then again, having carpet in a bathroom has got to be more desirable than not having a bathroom at all.

If there are three floors and the first floor is on the ground, it can also be called the first floor because it's the first floor. It's just a matter of preference between American and UK English.

Depends on the floor numbering system. In North America, a three storey building has a first floor, second floor, third floor. While in Europe, that same building is ground, first, second.

You would brighten it up with your own items, curtains, pictures etc. With the white walls you certainly have a blank canvas to work with. I found it quite light.

Tbf, there are benefits to darker houses. The back of my house where the living room is doesn't get much sunlight, which initially put me off it, but I have since found out that that makes the room really nice and cool, even during heatwaves - a benefit which I have been very grateful for in past years.

It's not that dark. Plus, some benefits to homes with less light include a better ability to sleep during the daylight hours if you work the night shift.

I have seen some building that are built on a slope that have a "lower ground" , "ground" , and "upper ground" floor , because you can enter the building from the ground from any of those floors.

So we have the bungalow, a one storey building, a two storey building and so on. So I agree with Matt. It’s the ground floor, 1st and second.

In Japan, the main entrance level is the 1st floor. For 250,000GBP (35,000,000JPY), we might be able to buy a decent three bedroom/ two-storeys house 90 minutes away from Tokyo. For the same price, we will likely only be able to get a pigeon-hole apartment in central Tokyo. I love British accent so all your videos get a BIG LIKE!

It's a good home but the bedroom are small, I like large living rooms, kitchen with lots of storage and large bedrooms to fit a king size bed, 3-4 wardrobes, 3-5 drawers and some extra space.

A comparison of what houses you can get for your money up to the 200k mark would be really interesting. We all love to dream but realistically a lot of people can't and probably never will afford houses beyond 200k (at least from my own experience from a working class background). Always like to see what you can get for your money in different areas - overseas your money would probably go much further of course than in the UK.

This is probably like 300k new build in south? A 4 bedroom version, 3 storey is 360k.. And basically if it’s not a new build then it’s a modest 3 bedroom house which is either terraced or a semi with a modest garden and maybe a small drive/ small garage.

3:51 - That depends on what floor numbering system you're used to. The North American floor numbering system has the street-level storey as the first floor, whereas the European floor numbering system calls it the ground floor. Sometimes if a basement is largely above ground, it's called the lower level.

My house is a 3 storey townhouse. The ground floor /front door is at the top of the house with bedrooms at top. We then go down to the middle floor and then down again for the kitchen and living space. It’s built on a hill so they dug out the land. It’s great as from outside the house likes like a bungerlow.

This house seems really expensive for the Midlands!! A brand new 3 bedroom house over 3 floors will sell for about £150-200k where we are (Staffordshire) yet this is an older property!! Property prices are nuts, how are people meant to get onto the property ladder?? I love your tours, some of the houses are amazing, the knoll in Nottingham is my fave, it is perfect!!....

I would like to see a mixture of both luxury and small houses. Small houses exposes us to the kind of house an average person can live, in the U.K and the amount it would cost. While the luxurious houses are more of entertainment and dreams. Cause hey, we can’t be serious all the time and of course we can work towards our dreams

My suggestion would be pick a house format, eg semi rural 4 bed detached decent house, then tour 3 or 4 houses of said format around the country comparing the price differences. Enjoying your content👍

I would love to see comparisons across the country on what you can get for £300k for example, like the average price for a ‘normal’ (!!) family. Also, what you can get as a 1st time buyer across the country. But I also love to see houses I can only dream of as well 😂 You do a great job guys and your fun to listen to as well (also easy on the 👁.....both of you, which always helps!!)

US American here. You enter a house on the first floor, go up a flight of stairs to the second floor. If you go down from the first floor that would be the basement. The area under the roof but above the highest living space is the attic.

Agreed. I recently made a purchase (first time buyer) in London Harrow. £370k for 1 bed flat new build. Around 450-470sqft (can’t remember exactly). Makes me sad that I could get bigger and better property outside London but that’s what you get I guess choosing London

In Canada we say the floor you enter is the 1st floor then 2nd and 3rd thereafter. Plus a basement which many homes have.

UK is GF, 1st fl, 2nd fl. this same property in Welsh Valleys ( new build) is £170,000 but £250,000 minimum in Cardiff. A house is worth what people will pay for it.
