Also the automatic in this game has really delayed shifts compared to powershifting using manual + clutch but I guess it fit the "beat" as this guy said. Also it is funny how automatic shifts feel like manual but the manual + clutch feels like single clutch automatic transmission (not sure if in 2007 the dual clutch automatic transmission existed)

I mean, hell, even 200km/h are fast as hell, and yet you feel like you're driving trafficspeeds in most games when you drive this fast. The fake camera shake in some was definitely too much. I like the style of Gran Turismo, the track is smooth and flat and the car isn't shaking violently. You get a good sense of speed from wind noise and the car handling, as well as objects flying past you near the edges of the screen.

My problem with a lot of early sim games is that their sense of speed was garbage. 200 to 250+ mph should generally only feel safe/manageable on a straight and even then there should be a certain intensity and fear to it because it's easy to fuck up anything at such speeds.
