This is what $90 a night gets you in Sint Maarten!

I normally don't post alot of our secret spots, but this however was something that I frankly thought the world should know about. Why? Because its quite possibly the most beautiful yet affordable place we've stayed in the tropics.

Baie Nettle is ok and your beachfront rental was absolutely lovely (I used to live across the street), but I prefer locations with more places you can walk to. Basically you had Mezza Luna and Bacchus and gas station. Plus proximity to Sandy Ground isn’t for everyone , especially at night can be dangerous to be honest. My favorite would be Cupecoy and Orient Village for first timers. Because you don’t need a car and you have many walkable options and lovely beaches and restaurants and live music. I lost my apartment in Cupecoy in 2017 due to Irma and I lost my apartment in Nettle Bay in 2020 due to covid and no work. SM is my favorite place in the world! Happy travels!

I definitely agree with Stephanie, Baie Nettle is a nice area with beautiful beaches, but there isn’t much more in that area and Sandy Ground can be a little rough for some inexperienced tourist. But if you have a car, this is a great area to stay in. Great video, I just might book this place on my next trip to SXM.

I am going to sint maarten in February 2024. I have Verizon phone. I was going to turn on international calling. Did your mot work? Or did you forget to turn on international calls?

Nice video! You should change the spelling. Sint Maarten is the Dutch side. You commented that this Airbnb is on the French. St.Martin.

I disagree that both sides are equal. The French side is by far the better side in my opinion. The people are definitely nicer as well. It's cheap because you are there during hurricane season. It's risky to be there July - November. I was there in June 2017 just a few months before Irma.
