Ever since California changed it to, popular vote only, LA, San Francisco, and Sacramento, have been in charge. Pure Democracy is where the Majorities oppress the Minority. Before it was by districts, so if most of the disteicts voted for A but popular vote went to B, then A would win. After the change, nobody gets a say except those cities, whom now make decisions that affect areas they know nothing about. Also, last i checked, California alone had 1/3 the entire homeless population of the USA. 49 other states share 66% of the homeless population.

I retired myself and my parents. We live right across from a beautiful lake. As they are elderly, I made sure their house was not quite turnkey but enough small jobs for my dad to do around the house. We had our eyes set on Berea originally because I’ve got friends there. And I have tons of friends in the Nashville area. That’s where all the people were flocking to for so long and so that’s why I chose Kentucky. I am also an activist for no men and women’s sports. So as I was inspired by Riley James to move to Kentucky. There is a marina. There’s a lot of events during the summer season. I’m just learning because it’s a tourist he kind of high and not vacation joint sorry I’m voice texting my apologies. My house had been an Airbnb and they couldn’t keep up with the insurance and there’s two Airbnb across the street from my house and then monstrous southern style craftsman style houses that look like they are out of town and countries Pasadena edition I love it here actually loves America and you live America and you have common sense. I think this could be the place for you. Welcome.

That’s gonna be a disgusting high-rise ghetto in less than a decade. Drug use, assault, prostitution, etc will all run rampant. You can’t just give somebody something like this and expect them to take care of it, especially with dependency and or mental health problems, which most homeless people possess. Yeah, it feels great and all to give them a comfortable warm and safe (for now?) place to live, but it won’t last. It’s not realistic. Pretty soon it won’t be good enough anyways, even the homeless complain about things when life gets too easy.

I'm on SSdi I started working when I was 14, I worked everyday till I was 57, I've had a stroke and a heart attack and was told no more work for me. Been trying to find housing but no luck. Do you live in Los Angeles? Those buildings were sitting empty for a decade because rich Chinese investors bought them to rent high and make a profit. They’re a huge reason why we have a housing shortage these days, because apartments that would have costed at most $1500 to rent now cost $3000 minimum per month. Meaning those people who would have rented apartments, are now competing for $2000 a month single households. Most of us here, from every ethnicity to every tax bracket in every neighborhood would prefer to get the mentally I’ll homeless in one controlled location and use those dumb ass buildings up. This isn’t about charity, it’s about righting the wrongs that these over sea investors created for no reason.

I was in a homeless ministry for ten years. I saw many homeless men get "housed". A great number of them used the housing to store there belongings, and still slept on the streets. Some of them actually did want off the streets. But most either do not want to be housed, or are unable to comply with standards to stay housed. Housing is a very secondary problem in this community...as you hit on.
