The temple is a very defensive landmark in castle. The monks heal and if you snatch a relic you can boost attack of the defenders.

Gold per second scales linearly with distance, so if you have a trade like this its going to make approximately a third more then vanilla map edge trade. One trade post to the other on most maps will make ~40% more per second then map edge trade. Funny enough, I think this might not be as worse to defend compared to behind your base trade map edge trade as people give it credit for. Trade lines behind your base hurt if the enemy gets cavalry in to raid, your counter raiding force has to run back from the front line. So while the enemy needs less time to reach your trade lines with midmap trade, your army is right there to defend it too. So like, you have halfed the time your enemy needs to attack the trade line, but you have -90%'ed the time your army needs to defend it, and you are earning 30-40% more. Obviously, things hurt if you lose map control, but if your enemy is chasing traders they are also not yet in your base killing your production.

drongo I'll let you in on a secret. To counter 4 or more unit compositions like in this game you choose the unit the enemy isn't making and you produce what that unit beats. So for example in this game blue was archer crossbow mango and knight. There was no maa. Maa beat spear horsemen therefore the answer is spear horsemen. Quite surprised you haven't figured out this trick yet.

@@08vinster lets say you want to counter someone using knight, horsemen, crossbow and archer. You choose the unit they aren't making (lets call that x) and you use the 2 units that x beats. So in this example x is maa. Maa beats spear horsemen. Therefore the answer to knight horsemen, archer and crossbow is spear horsemen. Alternatively you could say here that x is spears. spears beat horsemen knight therefore the answer to knight horsemen crossbow archer is knight horsemen etc etc. This is how a 6 way Rock Paper Scissors systems works my bro.

i want them to make mangudai more useful in castle-imp ages. like, making it less usable against unarmored and more beneficial against armored units like man at arms and knights. in general mongol units are very weak and thin like a paper, dies easily and low damage, no any bonus except khan's arrow which is completely dogshit compared to other civs. but lazy devs just want to keep it useless entirely...btw castle-imp age mangudai design sucks too , it has nothing mongolic but looks like tibetan or manchu archers ( i mean the head part with that stupid hat)
