I would try to take an infrared camera to a gym and shoot photos of people's veins popping while they work out. There could be some intense shots.

The beauty of just taking photos. Even removing colors, or changing them all together makes the shots have such an unreal yet real effect. Beautiful.

I shot a couple of rolls of Ektachrome Infrared back in the day. It shifted everything down a notch so infrared imaged as red, red imaged as green and green imaged as blue. Green plants were bright pink (ir + green -> red + blue). I called it the Barbie World look. :-)
@AlexandraStarr19746 жыл бұрын
Quite interesting, but why do we only stop at infra red? I would love to have a camera that could flip from visible light to infrared, or ultraviolet, or any of the many wavelengths of light that the human eye cannot detect! The visible light our eyes can see is just a small percentage of what is really in front of our eyes!
@jane19756 жыл бұрын
@Alexandra Starr Photography: Then you will need a Full Spectrum conversion done when having a camera body converted, the camera will then be sensitive to UV, Visible Light, and IR and you just choose a filter to go on the lens and different ones will give different effects-Pierre is using an Orange Filter here I think and this looks very similar to old colour IR film called Aerochrome. All those colour filters that were once used for Black and White photography all pass IR and produce different results when placed on the lens, for taking normal photos you would need a UV/IR cut filter and for UV only you would need a specialist UV pass only filter.
@oliverhilton60866 жыл бұрын
I’m not a scientist so don’t completely trust me on this, but I think it’s only really UV-through-IR on the EM spectrum that bounces off with visible light.
@mixbsd6 жыл бұрын
Even with a full spectrum camera, you would still need to change the filters on the front of the lens, and you would need to use a lens that can correctly focus UV, IR and visible light (UV and IR focuses differently to visible light). These lenses do exist, but they are very expensive (USD 6000+ for a Jenoptik 60mm APO lens, for example).

Uncoated lenses and a full spectrum camera. The coatings blocks a lot.
@garryb40726 жыл бұрын
Actually, a camera that has been modified for full spectrum photography can be used for normal photography with the addition of a "Hot Mirror" filter the end of the lens being used. I use mostly lenses with 58 mm filter rings, so I have a 58mm hot mirror filter.

@@pierre-louisferrer5307 agreed! Photography can become boring if you never experiment. I mean after all you're literally just pressing a button and aligning a shot. The modification of the camera is one thing only or there is other kind of modifications?I bought a Hoya infrared R72 filter for my sl3 and i loved the results.Is it needed to modify for better results?a modified camera will use the same filter as my Hoya?also i noticed how dark this filter is..without sun is hard to take a shot.The filters u r using in this video are they so dark?I would appreciate any help and tips if its possible!
@robh.69404 жыл бұрын
Modifying the camera will just allow more infrared light into the sensor. So, you will still need to use an infrared filter like your R72, but not as much light is blocked, because the IR blocker inside the camera is removed. Modifying the camera will allow you to use it in lower light situations. When you don't modify the camera, the filter is allowing in the IR light, but the filter inside the camera is blocking most of it. Modifying it removes that problem. The filters are dark because they're blocking almost all visible light, which is what "dark" is. But they're allowing in IR light.

Thank so much Rob for answering me and u where really helpful!! I m thinking now to buy an older camera and remove the filter so i can use it only for infrared fotography.I will keep my sl3 as it is for now.

Hi Matheieu, I noticed some blue on your lens - lens or adapter? :-) Do you have any experience on good adapters? Sony to FD, Sony to M42 etc. I have tried a few from e-bay, but quality varies. Maybe you could do a video on this ;-) Keep up the good work - you have cost me hours and hours on eBay looking for vintage lenses.

How did Pierre get the red look with his photos? (Sorry I’m super uneducated in IR filter photography i just found out about it recently)
@angelisone6 жыл бұрын
Amanda Bosse, the camera's blocking filter (sits in front of the sensor, which blocks infrared light from coming into the sensor) is removed. And a clear filter was placed in front of the sensor. This has to be done by ATG or mod companies. Then you screw on a IR (infrared) filter over your lenses's front thread.

Would a full spectrum converted camera with a 590nm filter achieve the same red photo style as Pierre’s pictures? Or would that only be possible with with a 550nm? Btw great video!
@pierre-louisferrer53076 жыл бұрын
The aerochrome style is only possible with 550nm filters and under 550nm, to achieve red/fuchsia foliage without uniform tint.
@PriscillaGomez6 жыл бұрын
Excellent thank you!
@jane19756 жыл бұрын
@Princilla Gomez: The Hoya 25A or Red [590nm ] produces Gold foliage, you would need a Yellow or Orange filter to achieve red foliage, I have seen Yellow filter images before and the foliage is Tomato Red and pretty and surreal too.

Do you have to use an infrared filter when you have a modified camera ?
@pierre-louisferrer53076 жыл бұрын
