@MathieuStern yeah, I'm impressed. The edge-to-edge sharpness coupled with a fairly strong anamorphic look is welcome. Definitely interested in a full set of these, including something really wide like a 20mm or something similar💪🏿💯💥

Mathieu Stern , congratulations, love all your videos, and in particular i love the modified camera photography videos specialy. Amazing work, beautiful images. I have one question for you, i also have an modified camera, canon 80d, once i photographed the palm of my hand and i could see the veins in it, but it was tricky to find the right light condition. i saw that in your video you found the right light conditions so the veins in your hand are visible. could you explain how was that effect achived? was that artificial lighting? difuse sun light, direct light? thank you.

YES $2000 is not " cheap" but considering the next cheapest macro anamorphic lens is $30k, I still think it's ground breaking.

I do something similar but modern. Everyone hates AI art, and I agree with a good portion of that hate but that doesn't mean I don't see AI as another tool. I use it for backgrounds because I am just horrible at coming up with background scenery. So, I'll take inspiration from AI, chop out the parts that look bad and make my scene. Sometimes I even outright trace the background entirely Then I can add my personal focus points to the piece. But seriously, just typing in a load of stuff, getting whatever AI pops out and saying "I did that" is whack. Do something to the piece to make it yours, alter it. Not just some word salad until you get something pretty.

please can you upload your videos about anamorphic lenses in ultrawide format ? The black frame kinda ruins the effect on an ultrawide monitor :/
@nindoninshu2 күн бұрын
agreed, thought he would've fixed this by now, there is no need to upload this video in 16:9
@BrendonKPadjasekКүн бұрын
KZbin doesn't allow end cards and certain features if you upload a true 2.39:1 video so if you see people uploading them as 16:9 that's likely why
@nindoninshuКүн бұрын
@@BrendonKPadjasek are end cards really worth the degradation of the whole video experience? the only way we can make it look normal again is if we install zoom extensions and even the ones i've seen don't have a slider, just preset zoom amounts so i can't even zoom without cutting off the edges of the screen, or i just have to live with my 250 pixels of black bars on the sides of the screen as if the top/bottom bars aren't enough :/

@@BrendonKPadjasek fair enough, i'm just saying it in case he tries to use it as an excuse, and for others to not use it as an excuse if it's this kind of video (i assume it was just his oversight though, probably exporting all videos with the same preset)

This will be great for future ideas that require a lot of miniature based sfx work. It can be hard to match such shots if your goal is to shoot anamorphic, since usually such lenses can't be used for miniature work, making compositing the plates later more difficult.

Sure is. Some people are making great money, but the number managing it is a fraction of what it was - and it's the highest number it ever will be again. I used to be a graphics designer before I took up photography, so at this point I'm out-surviving 2 professions as they die one after the other.

@@MathieuStern they rarely do the stop-motion commercially these days, but still there are many dedicated fans of stop-motion animation, and there’s a few really great artists of this craft. @mikeybtittybiscuits21744 күн бұрын
if a longer lasting print is needed then make sure you buy rolls that are described or listed as "coated" or "Top Coated" or "Waterproof" OR "Scratch Resistant". They are all the same thing, that is they have been given an extra coating on top of the paper to ensure they last longer. Much longer in fact than NON-coated papers. With the coating they will last (depending upon circumstances and manufacturer) between 7 and 15 years. Possibly more if stored in an album or journal etc. You can also put continuous label materials in these cameras, to make stickers. Just make sure that you get 'coated' materials. Look for "self adhesive" 57mm x 25mm rolls. These are usually 'coreless' meaning there is no cardboard tube in the middle. I get mine from Temu and they are so inexpensive and yield excellent quality results. Given the technology and the materials, these are for fun and for making 'arty' prints and great in the classroom or anywhere where some fun is needed. If you use the NON-coated papers, that's fine, but they will last a few months or weeks if they are placed in sunlight. The coated version is almost exactly the same cost as the NON-coated type, so best to opt for the coated/scratch resistant/waterproof/top-coated type!

Hello comment section. I'm new to photography. I like the looks from this lens a lot. Is it possible to use this diy lens on Canon R10? How do you focus using this lens and does Canon R10 has any type of features to assist the focus? Hopefully someone can tell me wether we can use this manual lens on Canon or not(I know nothing about manual lens). Thanks in advance. Excuse my English. I'm not native.
