I read a report by Goldman Sachs, about the world in 2075. Ethiopia will be as rich as the UK and France. Richer than Italy, Australia, and Canada. It will still be growing strong, it predicted to have the fastest growing economy in the world by then. It will have a population of about 270 million, and still a young population. So it will have a big market that's growing. The UK and France, will be in debt up to their eye balls. 300% of gdp. So, basically, the state has collapsed.

You made me giggle repeatedly because of your perfectly localized pronunciation of the words "Ethiopia" and "Addis Ababa." Your are like more catholic than the locals in accent. A beautiful Black American moving to Ethiopia, enjoying life as Addis Ababans, and speaking like locals even in delightful nuance of accent is admirable. What an amazing narration, young lady! 😍

I don’t think the point of the video was to show how the rich live. I think she was trying to show that it is possible for average income members of the diaspora can come and set up in Ethiopia yet still have some of the amenities that they are used to. Even this is not representative of the middle class in Ethiopia as most of Ethiopians live in poverty

Nice blog per usual! I think this might be actually one of most expensive schools in Africa ( 40k dollars average per year ) If you want a more affordable one with a good education check out the French school Lycee Guebre Mariam! Not be as high end as this one but it's one of the best schools in Ethiopia in my opinion and their alumni include the previous president Saile Mariam. $40,000 a year?!. Again, this is not for us ordinary people in Africa, it’s for the elite westerners and children of our corrupt politicians. This is a different type of colonialism if we think deep. It’s a colony of the western elites, they are in Addis but in an enclosed space far away from the locals. Besides being cleaners and caretakers, How many Ethiopians are employed as teachers with living conditions like this?. The money they spend one just 1 family from the west can probably hire 4 Ethiopian professionals with the same capacity. These kinds of schools are also in Kenya, South Africa, and many other places in Africa. Our government in Africa should set conditions on these money making institutions, they should employ At least 40% to 50% of our people if they want to function in Africa. Thanks sister!.

You are absolutely right. The cost to attend this school is absolutely outrageous! It is not for the “local community” However, I was told by my friends who work there that there are many Ethiopian teachers and assistant teachers whose kids can attend for free. It would be great though if we could work on bringing more of the schools in Africa up to a better quality standard ourselves. “African solutions for African problems.” Thanks for watching 🥰

Agree.. But some locals and those from abroad who'd like to come to Africa who can afford, need such high standards for them to feel comfortable with relocating.. The same with health facilities and security among other things.. What we need is that our governments here in Africa must get their act together in terms of public institutions, etc.. Our family friends from a neighboring country who are well off in their own right, have had to send their kids to South Africa for education. Even for health matters, the citizens there normally come to South Africa, members of the royal family including..
