Her hair does look great. I had a failed attempt to do this in California, same expense ($350), same time (5 hours) as other successful treatments and it did not work out for me. *However, years later I learned that as the hair grows out it’s natural again (obviously) and the straightened hair must grow out so you have the natural hair with a line of straightened hair and it’s not pretty. 😔

I’m so happy to hear people say this because the is my exact texture, density, & length. It’s always been a hassle because it takes twice as long for myself & any stylist to do and I always have to pay twice as much 😢 it’s one of the tightest 4c coils and when it’s dry I’ve been told it looks “nappy”. I always get compliments on now long or full my hair is but never the texture bc I basically have no curl pattern. But to see all this love for my hair type brings me joy. What’s her @?

@@CarrieFinley-g1m it was about $200/session, but lasted about 3-5 months depending on how often you wash your hair. The first time I went, it was about 5 hours, but I had mid back length hair that's really thick. It was shorter time with later visits since it was a touch up. I didn't really transition, I waited a few months and instead of getting it done again, I decided to loc. My ends stayed a bit straight because I didn't wait until it was completely out my hair, but I also interlocked my hair and wanted loose ends. I don't have the texture that easily locs to begin with so it didn't really affect my process

In my mind “relaxer” is not just a specific chemical but a class of hair products. And anything that permanently loosens your curls with a chemical is a relaxer. It is what it is, not sure why people trying to soften what it is.

@katybee38913 ай бұрын
The keratin treatment isn’t permanent. It is semi permanent. Relaxer breaks Sulfid bonds in the tertiary structure of the hair protein which permanently destroys the structure. Keratin treatments create a hull around the hair which gradually wears away after a few months. It’s a completely different process, it’s quite the opposite of a perm or a relaxer.
