I do like the Whopper, we were eating it a lot in 1970 when I was in high school. We would sneak away from school at lunch, smoke a doobie and chow down. The only problem now is that my stomach won't tolerate it, I end up burping that fake smoke taste all day long. Maybe some Tums or Mylanta would help. Really, I would rather have the standard Sonic double cheeseburger or the Wendy's Dave's double

My parents always gave us money to get whoppers back in the day for $1 each. Whenever she didn't want to cook, she used to ask us if we wanted Burger King. $10 = 10 Whoppers. Still to this day, it's my favorite. I just had a Whopper meal today for lunch.

Saying that, everything goes up in price. When I was a teen 10 benson and hedges cigarettes cost exactly £1.47p now you can only buy packs of 20 and they now cost around £10.50p.

Here's why a whopper is made the way it is: The mayonnaise is put on the top of the bun, to hold some of the lettuce. Then tomatoes on top of the lettuce, which holds the rest of the lettuce. On the bottom of the bun, 4 pickles are put on top of the meat, to bring out the flavor and salts of the meat. Then ketchup is added and then the onions. The ketchup holds the onions on. We learned that in management training.

@@eckankar7756 It's not all over the place. Maybe you have adhd, but I know what I'm talking about. When a whopper is made properly, some of the lettuce sticks to the mayo. Then, large slices of tomatoes are put over the lettuce, to hold it on. So when you flip the top of the bun onto the bottom of the burger, it doesn't fall off. I NEVER said "more" lettuce. Read it again.

IFFFF the burgers and other sandwiches EVER had the fresh vegetables that are shown on posters and tv, the food would probably actually be delicious - but the real food is never that size or that fresh - and never hot. As far as the patty goes, I find it hard to believe they use a microwave because the burger is never even warm and certainly not hot. I don't know about YOUR BK, but the buns at mine have no flavor and the texture is more like cardboard than a bun. And that is a real shame, because despite all the issues I listed above, you still have a flame broiled patty and THAT is what makes BK a step up from the other burger joints - the sub-par vegetables are tolerable, but the Bun is a real disappointment. I have always thought it sad they they make a burger that stands out from the competition and then they ruin it with a cheap bun.

I used to love Whoppers and Whataburger when they could keep from over-cooking the meat to give me medium-rare burgers. Whataburger only cooked on a flat-top grill, so I would tell them to just heat it up, not cook it. That's the best way to cook and eat any beef, without drying it out and leaving the tasty juices in the meat, not the grill.

I wish BK would go back to shredded Iceberg lettuce instead of the single "Oak Leaf" the currently use... also some BK Restaurants use very cheap Brand X Ketchup and Mayo (not Heinz and Hellman's), and since those 2 ingredients give the Whopper is predominant taste, it tastes cheap and "off". You've got to use good ingredients to make a good sandwich. Each successive owner of the BK Chain makes the Whopper taste worse than its predecessor. The reason why Burger King and McDonald’s burgers are so dry and tasteless is because you don’t get them fresh off the grill anymore. I’ve worked in both restaurants and both pre-cook their burgers and then put them in a warming bin. When they fill an order they take out the burgers and reheat in a microwave, which ruins them. And they do this whether you want cheese or not.

I was at a Burger King when the ice cream machine had broken on a summer weekend. I asked the manager why couldn't he get ice cream from a nearby grocery store to serve temporarily. He said he couldn't do that. He said the same thing applied to onions. If the onions ran out, they couldn't go to the grocery store. They could only serve the onions from their supplier. I believe that the onions have a distinctive taste. I believe that is what makes Whoppers so good.

The Whopper is the easiest burger to replicate at home. The combination of the smoke. mayo and ketchup give the Whopper the unique taste. Most burgers are mustard or ketchup based.

Burger King just recently ran a promotion for the 64th birthday of the whopper and although this was a fabulous promotion at Burger King, our Burger King was turning away seniors who did not have mobile phones. So because they didn't have a mobile phone, they didn't have the Burger King app. But yet at other Burger Kings, they were very accommodating and they allowed seniors, people that were in their 70s, and 80s, at that Burger King, to take advantage of the .37 cent Whooper promotion. I had several friends and family members who were at other locations and they were not asked if they had the Burger King app. Let's face it, this brought a lot of revenue into the restaurant, because once people were in the restaurant they bought other items like french fries and beverages. I did reach out to Burger King corporate, and their reply was basically we're sorry, but that's what you needed. Although I understand that, then BURGER KINGS NEEDS TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL BURGER KINGS ARE ON THE SAME PAGE!! One or two Burger King's can't be doing it, while other Burger Kings are not.

Morally and legally burger king has no obligation to give you any sort of discount, clearly, you lack the comprehension needed to follow basic procedures of downloading an app on your phone then you do not deserve any discount. The BK Whopper & Whopper Jr used to be my favourite choice of all burgers (even though they are more costly compared to normal burgers) after I grew out of The Big Mac. BUT not for too long though because I noticed the initial Whopper's & Whopper Jr's beef patties were thicker and juicy until it changed into thin beef patties like other normal burgers in the fast food burger industry. Sad thing about almost all majority food companies (Not all) now are more concerned about upping up profits rather then equally along with it's quality of the products for consumers. Sad world. I've stopped eating fast food burger from there on. Could be a blessing in disguise though. 😂

One time I bought a Whopper and a Whataburger and switched the meat. I like the Whopper's flame-grilled meat. But Whataburgers have better toppings. So I thought by combining the flame-grilled meat with the superior toppings, I'd have the ultimate fast-food burger. But oddly enough, it really didn't make a difference. I'm old enough to remember the good flavor of the flame-grilled whoppers in the early days of Burger King. But recently (in the last 15 years), they have microwaves in their restaurants. I have witnessed, multiple times, the staff placing a Whopper in a microwave just before serving it to me. It tasted like a burger that's been simply reheated in a microwave, and NOTHING like a fresh flame-grilled burger they used to serve. I've given up on Burger King for Whoppers.

I tried my first Whopper in 1967 more than 50 years ago. It cost 50 cents. The cheese Whopper was 55 cents. It tasted great then. Pretty much the same today but I don't buy them that often anymore.

It would not be worth the price anymore. If it stayed consistent, it would be $4.09 today. It is basically $0.50 or more in terms of what it should be if price is proportioned to inflation.

Whopper Jr w/cheese is the only sandwich I ever order at a Burger King. It's the perfect size for me, sometimes it's on a "value menu" or sale of some sort and has the same taste and feel of the regular size Whopper. Oh, and my favorite fast food commercial is the one with the King playing QB for the 49's and running for that iconic TD run that Steve Young did all those years ago.

Never heard of a Window 7 Whopper. Is that something on a hidden menu? And can you order it anywhere? That sounds like a substitute for the usual 3Lb cheese steaks I normally get for $6.50 at my local sub shop. $9.50 with Lg fries and 32oz soda.

I used to like the fresh off the grill taste. Lately, I've noticed a huge change in the taste and, texture of the burgers. One thing is... they serve the meat cold and the bun is no longer warmed but, cold and dry. In fact yesterday I had to complain to the manager about the fact that my burger was cold. They have turned to Mc Donald's style where they cook the meat and keep it supposedly warm till you place your order. Last time I visit Burger King.

I've never had a cold meal at McDonald's, but at BK without fail the burgers are cold. The fries are good, and nice and warm though.

@@bradleywhais7779 maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but clearly that's not the case -.- let's say, for argument's sake, that they are served hot (which they aren't): a burger with a 165/over 70°C patty does not cool down to way below room temp in 30 seconds, if the buns and the other stuff come directly from the fridge then MAYBE. Burger King was a treat as a kid. For the past few years, it seemed that the quality has gone down. I have not been there in a while and I would hope that perhaps some of the changes that they have made hopefully are applied everywhere. I just wish their fries were as good as McDonald's fries.

I am a former BK Restaurant Manager. If you calculated things like: whopper minus onion, whopper heavy mayo minus onion, whopper heavy mayo, whopper easy mayo minus onion, whopper easy mayo, whopper minus minus mayo and onion, whopper heavy pickle minus onion, whopper easy pickle minus onion, whopper minus pickle and onion…. It adds up. The list would be too long and boring to post in total.

Normal SIZE what I like two patties and YES the Whopper is wonderful burger, I do like the choices of different burgers, I would like large onion rings NOT SMALL FORMED. I am a Canadian and think it is the best price for the Burger.

Can someone PLEASE answer me on this, I think I'm going crazy... over the years, I've had different BK burgers on several occasions and in three different countries (UK, Finland, Spain). The burgers were good, but cold. Not like lukewarm after a 15 minute ride in the car, but stone cold literally 20 seconds after I got my hands on it at the counter. What is up with that??

As much as I used to like BK, Fatburger has them beat by many orders of magnitude now. I have no problem whatsoever in waiting for a burger to be put on the grill the moment I order it. I'd rather have one cooked to order than to have one that has been in warming tray for who knows how long before I order it. If you ever have a chance to eat at a Fatburger, take it. You may never want to go anyplace else.

Troy Davis confirmed what i suspected about burger king. The burgers aren't fresh, they are taken from the broiler to steaming drawers and sit til they are heated in a microwave! No wonder the whoppers have gotten in the past have been cold to barely warm. What a sorry way to prepare food. I'm done with BK til they change. Back in the late 60's to early 70's when they first opened their restaurants you could get a nice fresh sandwich that took 2 hands to hold which was way better than anything Mcdonalds had. They need to go back to their roots.

I always get 2 double whoppers with cheese and when I get them home I put Dukes mayo on them and then I dip in ketchup. 😉
