The sportsmanship is crazy. Especially when number one in the world is on the line. I’ve only ever encountered it once from other people in diamond
@Exsulator25 ай бұрын
tbf it doesn't matter in lower ranks, because everybody takes losses from random stuff like lag, toxic mates, game stutters, controller issues, electrical blackout, etc. And because everybody "suffers the same" then there's not really a big deal if you get lucky or unlucky, it evens out over time, and a few mmr don't make much diff in low ranks. But especially for rank 1, every single mmr counts, and is hard earned, and the title of being "best in game" is meaningful, unlike a few mmrs in lower ranks.
@eardepel86794 ай бұрын
@@Exsulator2 Yeah, at low ranks you also don't play a player almost every time in a row. So there is way less chance for someone to give you the mmr back. There also are way to many people not using chat what also doesn't help in this situation...

Jack, your gameplay promotes good sportsmanship, and helps me not to get tilted when my opponent has a skill gap over me... and take ownership for my mistakes and learn from them. That patience and determination it creates in my playstyle has kept me interested in the game, and I keep improving every season. The way you explain even the slightest thing like not going for a hundred Boost instead of playing close to the ball etc.... it helps a low mechanics player like me stand a chance, I’m more aware of my positioning etc. Cheers from LA! I’m hard stuck in diamond 1 tho 😢
@edgeribble5 ай бұрын
If ur positioning is good, diamond is the rank to start learning and improving ur mechanics. If ur dribbles aren't good, practice them and learn a few flicks. Also get comfortable in the air with aerial control (not necessariy with air roll but if u can why not) and learn air dribbles soon

Loved the sportsmanship. A few months ago while playing 2s with a friend, one of our opponents lost connection mid match while tied and I let my friend 1v1 the remaining one. The other guy was very grateful saying it was the first time someone was so nice to him in Rocket League. In the end my friend won the duel so we were happy with the win and the opponent happy he was given a fair chance. Everyone shoud do that. You'll feel better than by just mopping the floor with your rival in a 2v1.

Because of your 1v1 videos, I have now inspired myself to start playing more 1v1s this season. Currently I have played 20 games, 8 games more than last season and more games than I've played in the other 2 playlists. I feel like I am definitely improving at the gamemode but I also keep on tilting when players don't back off for boost and that leads me to mess up my flicks. I am currently 995 mmr, 1 win off champ 1 and have won 11 out of 20 of my 1v1 games so far. Hoping to at least have played more 1v1 games than 3v3 games this season and to try and get into champ 2 for the first time in 1v1s.

It really is good to see you back in Europe - love these vids. I know that Game2 was lopsided, but games 1 and 3 (or 4 or 5... lol) were just a masterclass in great RL play. Love the sportsmanship, too. It's so refreshing.

This is kind the players i've been playing for a long time at diamond rank (when i last played the game, i think it was before 2022), players that play fast and dont worry that much about position, cause there's lucky moves and pressure that you dont really get to know playing that positionally (with positional i mean "respecting")

I use a steamdeck to play rocket league using the onboard keyboard. Is it better to use a controller and if so , which one?
@CW7_5 ай бұрын
Definitely get a controller. Which one depends on your taste. Xbox and Playstation controllers are well liked.
@Frozen_RL5 ай бұрын
If you have large hands, go for the Xbox controller. Average or small hands probably PS4 controller. I will say I had 3 Xbox controllers break within a few months because I have boost bound to right bumper and the bumpers would fail after a month. I switched to PS4 and have had 2 controllers last me several months to a year each.
